I may have just cracked the code of my pregnancy cravings.
Leftover boxed mac and cheese, heated up with a spoonful of cream cheese and red pepper flakes. It was amazing. But we generally only have one serving left over when we make a box, and we don't make it super often.
I have been craving allll the spicy foods! There’s a fish and chips truck that comes to my town every few weeks, and they serve a sriracha mayo. They were here today, and I went and ate and I cannot stop thinking about that fish and those chips and that spicy mayo. I know if I eat too much I will 100% get sick, but if someone put another order of it in front of me, I would not be able to resist! 🤣
@mizzoumomma11 Me too!! Give me all the spicy food. We got a spicy dip with a shawarma platter we ordered and MH (who is usually much better with spice than I am) declared it too spicy while I ate the whole thing. My nausea seems to have mostly passed so I'm all about that spice now!
Tortilla chips with hot queso and salsa. And a huge chocolate PB milkshake. I've been wanting one for a while now from a specific place and we finally were in the neighborhood.
I'm craving sushi and sandwiches with deli meat. neither of which I can have unless it's cooked meat on the sushi and fresh meat for the sandwiches. But that's not what I want. I want a spicy salmon roll and a turkey sandwich or a ham sandwich from a local deli. Otherwise fresh fries with mayo appeals.
@stellaraqua92 I've been craving sushi too! I tried one of the online recipes for a sushi bake and it was good enough to satisfy my cravings. Though it's not exactly a spicy salmon roll, if you make one of the options with salmon is the next best thing.
I’ve been craving Panda Express chow mein, grapes, and s’mores lol I have craved s’mores with all of my pregnancies. And now my mouth is watering… I feel like I am starving all the time but at the same time the thought of food makes me nauseous.
you can have the deli meat from your deli! Just heat the turkey or ham or whatever until it’s steaming to kill potential listeria, and then you’re good! (You can take it off the sandwich so the rest doesn’t get warm.) I’ve done this through 3 pregnancies, and have had 4 different (and incredibly cautious OBs who all said this was safe! Sometimes you can’t beat a turkey sandwich craving!
I'm so hungry all the time... yesterday I got frozen yogurt. Today, I had a bean burrito for lunch and felt sad when it was gone. I'm thinking about getting another one...
Anyone else dealing with aversions? I'm really disliking coffee and mint... also some fruits and juices taste too sweet. Last time around, I had a water aversion and I'm afraid I'm approaching that again because I'm not reaching for it as much as I used to...
I don't know if this qualifies as an "aversion" but I haven't had coffee in three whole days which is really strange for me (hello, coffee addict here!). Instead I have been all about jasmine green tea for my allotted caffeine intake.
Craving Mashed potatoes, Honey Nut Cheerios, frozen yogurt with boba and nerds on top, and salad.
As for aversions I can’t handle eggs. Eggs used to be my go to but my stomach just can’t digest it, the sight of naked meat makes me dry heave and every couple of days my coffee tastes like stale cigarettes.
I tried green tea today and couldn't finish it. I'm drinking ginger ale and sparkling water nowadays, apparently. Water is still okay, but I'm not reaching for it as much as I usually do.
I am craving lemon peel stuffed green olives and the only store near me that carry’s them is out of stock. I fully plan on driving 45 minutes on Saturday to go to a farmers market I know of that sells them.
Bad morning sickness so my diet is very…beige. Baked potatoes, bagels, rice, cereal, smoothies….
Fortunately my nurse said it was fine to just eat whatever I could keep down first trimester, and we could catch up on fresh veg etc later. That made me feel a bit better about my current awful diet
