Vanishing twin, subchorionic hematoma, or possible twin??

Does this look like 2 sacs? The larger sac is measuring 6 weeks today. My dr said the smaller sac may be a vanishing twin or possibly a small blood clot. I had a strong feeling I was having twins. I’m wondering if anyone has had a scan like this previously and so early on that maybe the second sac became a viable pregnancy (as in it was developing at a different pace)…

I have a rescan next week but this is driving me crazy. This is my 5th pregnancy. I have 3 healthy boys and had 1 pregnancy loss.

  • So hard waiting to find out more info! I just wanted to say that if it is a subchorionic hematoma, and you start to bleed, not to panic as this is normal and shouldn't impact your baby at all. I had so much bleeding when my (very big!) clot burst during my first pregnancy. It was terrifying, but all was perfectly fine.

  • Thank you for the heads up! I was a little startled that I wasn’t given much information except to come back in a week.
