4cm dilated and 50%effaced!

Hey there- at my 37 week appt I was 4cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have since lost my mucus plug and have had irregular contractions on and off. Heartburn, reatless legs, low back pain, lightening crotch....I have an appt again tomorrow and they said if I am 6cm they will consider admitting me. Anyone experienced this? I definitely do not want to be admitted but this is my 3rd and my 2nd came 40 min after my water broke and we live about 35min from the hospital.
