Finding it hard to go anywhere first trimester

This is my first pregnancy and I'm about 7 weeks and I'm so nauseated and adverse to almost all foods except raw vegetables haha. I keep ditching social events and I feel so bad to my friends because I'm being flaky but I feel like if I go to anything it will be extremely obvious I'm pregnant and I don't want to tell anyone yet. Has anyone else had to deal with this?

  • I feel the same way. I'm not normally a social person so it doesn't seem that strange to those around me I'm guessing. But like I don't want to go out, don't want to smell food or anything strange. I keep popping ginger candies and chugging water when I do go out.

  • Both of my prior pregnancies I had hyperemesis.
There is absolutely medication that can help! Talk to your OB about it. Also- the study on zofran was funded by a competitor and unable to be replicated in third party trials, so it can be controversial. Anecdotal- I’ve taken it all the way through two pregnancies and they are both perfect. If you haven’t tried unisom and b6 that’s a safe over the counter option to ask your OB about trying, which works for a lot of people!

  • I feel that a bit. Mostly I’m so tired I’m afraid I’ll have to take a nap half way through any social situation. I’m dreading a conference I’m attending next week. In terms of close friends, I told a few so they know when they see me! And it’s been a huge comfort. They are also the ones I’d want to know if I went through a loss. So maybe there are a couple people you’d tell and then feel comfortable socializing with because they’d know your limitations?
