What number are you trying for? 3, but first two are adopted/being adopted

Any thoughts about this cycle? My chart was so confusing from being sick this month that I didn’t realize I ovulated until a week after, which was annoying at the time but I’m liking that now my TWW is really only a one week wait lol

Rant/Rave? I’ve been having some mixed feelings about us TTC again. I 100% want another child, but a big part of me wants to just adopt again. Yes, it’d be nice to know a child is ours from the get-go, but it was also nice to not have to go through the risks of pregnancy and childbirth for our first two. Plus we had a friend over yesterday who brought their baby and now my 4-year-old says he doesn’t want a baby in our family lol. We are still actively trying to adopt as well, so I guess we’ll just see what happens first.

GTKY: Do you collect anything? In middle school I started collecting spoons. Like actual collectible spoons, not just random spoons. I haven’t gotten any new ones in a while, though, so maybe I should start it back up.

GTKY: Do you collect anything? My kids junk.... we have random autographed football items. Magnets and ornaments from tips and major moments but nothing intentional. 

H collects blowmolds, the holiday decorations.

@britters314 It's nice to hear your perspective on adoption. We have talked about it and I think it's something we will pursue if it doesn't seem like we can conceive a third on our own (which is looking more and more likely). 
@mambo5-2 My kids have "collections" of so many many varieties. Rocks, squishmellows, legos, Dinos, ugh. Too many things.

Rant/Rave? I can finally post from my computer again! Yay! Bumping on my phone is so annoying. 

GTKY: Do you collect anything? I'm not really into things so much, so not a big collector. My husband collects books. So. Many. Books. I'm more a of a library type of gal, and I sincerely don't understand why anyone would need 5 (yes 5!) copies of the same book, that will never be read because they are "collectable".

Rant/Rave? We all just got hammered with a cold. The last few haven’t been so bad, but this one - yikes! Finally on the mend.

@maggiemadeit I’ve only ever been a mobile bumper. Don’t want to know how much better the desktop version is. I prefer denial 😉

@britters314 It would likely be an adoption from foster care situation for us. My parents were foster parents when I was growing up and it had a big impact on me.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I see this cycle is going to be a weird long one for me due to MC. Yay! /sarcasm. I just want this cycle to end at this point and to have closure. I'm ok for the most part. Mostly sad that what I perceived as my ideal expected due date is now poofed. I really really really wanted to avoid another holiday baby but watch, it'll be my luck to have a second holiday baby.

Rant/Rave? Saw our first day care for DD. At least this time around. She's been in daycare twice, two weeks before the covid lock down, and then two weeks when she was 1.5 and caught a nasty RVS bug and we pulled her. Now I'm going back into the office again we need daycare, and honestly she needs it too. Well preschool, but we don't have any like publicly run/preschools not attached to a daycare facility. While she still looked for us for comfort during the tour, she took to the other kids really well. Jumped in and played with them like the little extrovert she is. She'll thrive after getting over the separation anxiety. It's an older outdated home as the facility that needs some updating, but the teachers seem great. We have another tour tomorrow which I think will be a better fit. But we shall see.

GTKY: Do you collect anything? Like @halfanewt, yarn. So much yarn. And seeds. Sooo many seeeds!!!

@maggiemadeit I feel you on being out this cycle. I'm with you on collectable books. But I'm also a book lovers worst nightmare. I dog ear, I crack spines, I take mine to the bath/pool. LOL

@halfanewt omg desktop is so much better. I really hate the mobile version but I use it in a pinch.

@stashattack IMO true book lovers don’t care if a book is beat up like that because it means it’s been read a lot. Books are meant to be read, not remain in pristine condition on a shelf.

@britters314 I'm with you. I knew like that was always a thing that some book people hate, but I didn't know the extent of it until I found booktok on tiktok. Man people are nuts LOL.

@maggiemadeit I also totally forgot to say there’s another pro if you are looking at adopting from foster care. Usually it’s an older child, so you get to skip over the sleepless nights and diaper changes. Though some people prefer the baby age, so I guess it’s not a pro for everyone.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  I take a Proov progesterone test every day between 6 dpo and 9 dpo.  My levels always tank at 8 dpo and rebound at 9 dpo, but today my level was at maximum - 7.0 out of 7.0 (my usual is right around 5)!  I'm hoping that's a good sign, although I'm holding off on pregnancy testing for now.

Any questions? Not at this time.

Rant/Rave?  Just the usual fatigue associated with parenting an active 2-year-old daughter while being 41 years of age.

GTKY: Do you collect anything? Books, books, and more books!  Lately, I've been ordering a lot of makeup samples from The Detox Market - I want to wear makeup that's as non-toxic as possible if I get pregnant.

@britters314 Thank you for sharing that. It’s definitely appealing to my husband, who does not love the baby stage. I could go either way. I like the baby part, but I also really enjoy my kids now that they are older and have more independence. I’m not sure I could manage a teenager though, just for lack of experience. 

@geekprincess26 Welcome! How do you like the Proov tests? I was thinking about giving it a try before I dive into real testing with the doc.

@maggiemadeit I definitely get your husband.  I dream of collecting every edition ever published of The Lord of the Rings when I'm older and richer.    As for the Proov tests, I use them as a backup to my Mira hormone analyzer, which gives me an an exact ng/ml measurement every time I test.  However, those test sticks are more expensive than the Proov tests, so I only use them during my fertile phase. The Proov sticks are still a bit pricey, but the app is incredibly easy to use, and after your 4-day testing window is complete, you get an ovulation "score" that measures the strength of your progesterone availability during the possible implantation window, which is crucial to establish a successful pregnancy.  I no longer get very strong lines on my OPK tests, so I wasn't sure I was actually ovulating, and these tests proved both that I am still ovulating each month and that my progesterone levels are good.  I can't put a price on that peace of mind.

@mambo5-2 Thanks!  Also, you have my utmost respect for foster parenting, especially a teenager!  One of my best friends adopted two children out of foster care, and I saw firsthand how much effort good foster parents put into jumping through all of the hoops that county governments set up for them, while simultaneously giving their children peace, security, and stability.  It's a tough job and not for everyone, hence my admiration for those who do it successfully.

AFM, my 4th and final Proov test was a 6.5/7.0 this morning, giving me a 100% ovulation score and the highest progesterone levels I've ever had!  Just a couple more days before I can start testing!
