I have a 4 week old girl, almost every time we go to change her diaper she starts screaming, mostly when we are in the middle of changing it not before just during and after. Any tips to help her be more comfortable while changing.
It’s not popular opinion, but are you using a wipe warmer? Could be that her bum just gets exposed to the colder air quickly in these winter months and if your home is a colder environment and her bottom is out in the elements that could cause a sensory overload for her.
I second the wipes warmer! I notice a difference in comfort when using warmed wipes versus straight from the pack for sure. My baby boy has mostly grown out of this at 7 weeks, so hang in there! He used to cry like his life was ending for the first several weeks, but now he just chills and lets it happen
I agree that the temperature change could be the culprit. Also, we try to wake our baby with kisses and slowly unwrapping them prior to the diaper change as to not startle them from sleep with cold air and a cold wipe.
