I get nauseous just thinking about food. I can only really stomach carbs. I’m so tired of them. Sipping water makes me nauseous immediately. I ate soup last night which tasted great but I felt sick after. I tried it again today and I didn’t like it. I swear my tastebuds change daily. Most smells turn me off.
I’m starting B-6 and Unisom tonight. Prayerfully it helps.
I’m nauseous and having the most insane heartburn. Like makes me want to cry level burn. Taking lansoprazole for 6 days now with basically no relief.
Currently eating scrambled eggs, trying to get some fat. I’ve already gained a few pounds which I need, I’m on the thinner side. So I made sure before the nausea hit to basically non stop stuff my face.
Super weirdest craving, but I’m super craving both egg salad and tuna salad, lol. Could there be a stinkier craving while my smelling sense is so sensitive? 🤣 My son is super allergic to eggs (even airborne while cooking), so I’ve barely even eaten eggs the last 4 years, but I NEEDED some hard boiled eggs and egg salad this week. So super random! My other pregnancies were all cravings for like carbs or fruit or else nothing.
OMG, this thread is giving me comfort that I’m not the only one.
Completely turned off by food. Oatmeal has been helping and the outshine popsicles are a new food group for me. I haven’t been able to eat stand alone meat. The thought of chicken makes me nauseous. Finally got a script for Zofran but now have terrible constipation!
I am craving jalapeños and salads. I had an amazing couscous salad with cucumber and feta this week and it was so good. I ate some jalapeños yesterday with a breakfast burrito and loved it.
Most things make me feel nauseous but these sound nice. I usually also like cereal with extra cold milk when pregnant but haven’t had that as yet.
I've been essentially craving all of the American food I haven't been able to eat in 3 years and can't find here at all (or it's crazy expensive)! I'm so jealous of the cheerios!!! I keep wanting spicy and sour food and then when I eat it, my bloating becomes so much worse. There's a Chinese superstition that says if you crave spicy food, it's a girl, and sour food, it's a boy. My mother-in-law is super confused why I want both lol
I wouldn't say I have any aversions because I don't have any true nausea as of now (only gas-related) but I have noticed not wanting to eat some things that I usually like
I'm not truly craving anything yet. More like there's a small list of things that don't make me gag or vomit. So far, that includes apple pie Lara bars, banana bread, mashed potatoes, cantaloupe, plain digestive biscuits, and grapefruit juice. Everything in teeny tiny quantities.
Aversions are out of control. Garlic. Coffee. Any meat or fish. Rice (how is this even possible?!). Corn. Broccoli. Anything fried. Anything spicy (this one makes me want to cry).
I just picked up my diclegis prescription though, so I'm hoping it helps.
@lovelikestardust I had a coffee aversion the whole first trimester with my daughter. But once I hit 2nd tri I was back in business. It’s not bothering me the same way this time, but I’m suffering from excruciating heart burn so I’ve cut it out to try and help.
Eating…..all the carbs! Lol. I’m trying not to but that’s what makes me feel the best at the moment. My taste buds change daily which makes things hard to grocery shop for a whole week and I don’t have time to go to the store daily
You might want to consider zoFran. Your OB can get it for you. I was the same way (and am right now as I’m out of the zoFran) and my dehydration got too bad. I ended up in the hospital for fluids and iv nutrition I wasn’t throwing up too bad (just three times a day for a few days) but my nauseas kept me from drinking enough water.
I've started to note that my issues seem like GERD so I've been avoiding acidic things. Seems like each burp (and they are constant) brings a bit of liquid up with it. I'm going to search my file boxes for the list of safe meds because I'm not sure on stuff like prilosec since I've never needed it during a pregnancy. It's somewhere... just gotta find it.
@greyhoundjag run it by your dr if you feel safer, but my practice posts safe meds on their site. I just did two weeks of Prevacid. It made a world of a difference. I’ve given up coffee bc the heartburn just isn’t worth it. That acidic gurgle in your throat is one of the worst feelings and I really empathize with you.
I’ve been craving fruit, specifically oranges, green grapes, and apples! I’ve been trying to limit the amount of fruit I eat and balance them out with veggies.
If I eat fast food, it’s Chick-fil-A nuggets with a bowl of fruit instead of french fries, which I never would’ve done before this pregnancy.
Yes! I found my list pretty quick, I've been taking some generic Pepcid and it helps temporarily.
For whatever reason protein has been triggering MS so I have been eating a lot of bread and crackers. Anything gassy for me is causing trouble, too. Can't eat anything with corn, banana, sooo many other foods. As a protein that hasn't caused me much trouble, I've been eating a lot of cheese. Fruits have been so acidic so I've been limiting those as well. I'm hoping things get easier over the next few weeks. This has been my trickiest 1st trimester for morning sickness.
I'm eating a lot of plain rice thesedays as well 🤣
@greyhoundjag I’m with you on the protein! So many people told me eating protein has helped them, but it’s the opposite for me this time (this has also been my worst 1st trimester out of three). I’ve mostly just been eating like a 5 year old: PB&J, Kraft mac & cheese, apple juice
Craving pasta and cereal mostly and cold water but honestly I have no appetite most of the time even when I’m hungry. Can’t really eat meat so that’s been a challenge to get protein

Praying we all get normal in 2nd trimester!

The little nugget: Feed me nothing but boneless wings and brownies, Mother.
