Re: Weekly Check-In 1/23

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 31+2

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Baby is the size of a(n): bottle of Sunny D

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: Next week for 32 week check.

How are you feeling?: miserable. Sore, heartburn, baby kicks hurt. I’m over it!

Rants/Raves: I got a massage and pedicure on Saturday! Thank goodness because I was hardcore exposed to Covid yesterday when my BIL came to eat dinner. He was over all weekend helping my H drywall our basement. 😭 So now our whole family is on Covid watch. I hate this! Oh and my daughter woke up with pinkeye. So hoping I don’t get that as well.

I’m actually thankful all this is happening before baby gets here. He or she is more protected on the inside at this point.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is your favorite movie and why?

Goodfellas. I just love the story, the cinematography, the acting. Plus I love mob movies.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 33 weeks, March 13th

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): Celery stalk, I think? Kind of an odd one.

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: 36 week in Feb. They’ll be checking for strep B and checking that baby is still head down!

How are you feeling?: Lots of aches and pains and tired…nothing new.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: My husband lost his job a bit ago and I’ve spent most of my time worrying over our income situation. It’s made it harder to be excited or as involved in baby stuff. I’m tired of stressing out about it, and I keep having this feeling I’m not going to make it to March before delivering, so I’m really feeling a time crunch at this point for bringing in more income.
Rave: People have been more generous than I expected and are gifting us a lot of what we’ll need. Still need to organize and set up pretty much all of it, but we have it. Biggest deal to me is having a car seat and then a crib will be delivered next week. A way to transport her and a place for her to sleep. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect as far as gifts, so this is helping my money stress a little bit.

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: What is your favorite movie and why?
This is probably going to sound weird, but one of the only movies coming to mind as a favorite is Up in the Air. Sad subject matter, but a very beautifully shot movie with a good soundtrack.
  • Thanks for continuing this @Wishilivedinflorida

@mvm0609 I’m so sorry to hear about your husbands job. Do you have familiar support from either of your parents?

EDD / Weeks + Days: March 15th / Will be 33 weeks tomorrow

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Baby is the size of a(n): Squash/celery

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: I had an ultrasound appointment today to check on baby’s growth. We’re still in the 9th percentile. They want me to come back in two weeks. I’ll see what my midwife says.

How are you feeling?: Exhausted and emotional. I cried yesterday because it was cold and rainy and I had to walk six blocks to the bank which felt SO FAR!

Rants/Raves: I’m so ready for my maternity leave, but I feel like my studio is going to fall apart when I leave.

    Questions: NA

GTKY: What is your favorite movie and why? Gone With the Wind. It has everything — drama, comedy, romance, war, a strong female lead, a great message…It’s stunningly shot, has an incredible score, and I just love it so much. It’s a bit controversial in this day and age, but all that is really much ado about nothing when you’ve actually seen it/read it and know the history of the production. Even my partner has come to love it. We watch it at least once per year.
  • @lightintothevoid Hoping for continued growth for baby girl! I sadly have never watched gone with the wind. Maybe during leave I will!

@mvm0609 I’m sorry about the money stresses but glad you have had good support so far. I hope he finds something soon!
  • Thanks for the kind words! We have some support, thankfully. And people are still trying to help us get all of our baby gear sorted out, which I deeply appreciate. Right now some days are just better than others emotionally. I think hormones must be playing a part in that! Just really have to remind myself too that we will get through this eventually.
