MRI or US

Hello, I am 33 week. I did 2 brain scans of the lateral ventricles in the brain half an hour apart. The first by ultrasound using 2 doctors according to which the ventricles are a normal size of 8 millimeters, and the second by mri with a size of 12 millimeters. How is such a difference possible in half an hour? What is more accurate, ultrasound or mri? Thanks

Re: MRI or US

  • The problem with MRI is that if the baby moves during the image, it can skew the results. But this is best answered by the docs who ordered and interpreted your individual tests. There can be many factors that influence measurements on imaging.
