There is literally no way to tell which sperm carries the X chromosome or Y chromosome. Sperm washes for IUIs just take out the weak sperm. It doesn't separate them by chromosome. The only way to have sex selection as an option is doing IVF, get eggs that are fertilized by sperm (by traditional method or ICSI), grow to day 5 embryos, get frozen and tested for chromosomal abnormalities, yield results that are normal embryos with the desired sex, thaw a normal embryo of the desired sex, and it survives the thawing process. Even if knowing the sex of the sperm used and injected into an egg (via ICSI) was possible, it is completely up to chance if fertilization even happens and everything after that.
