We did one last shopping run yesterday, before the ice storm, mostly because my SO said he hadnβt gotten me stocking stuffers, and I thought I was good with his, and didnβt look for anything additional for that. We got home and I realized I only have a bit of candy for him- he doesnβt even like candy that much. Whoops! Iβm hoping I can walk on the ice to the convenience store down the street and at least get him a cider or lottery tickets or SOMETHING extra to add, or that things will thaw early enough tomorrow morning I can feign a last minute trip for something else before MIL comes over for Christmas Eve festivities. Another confession is that Iβm having a terrible time keeping up on this board. Iβll read when thereβs a new comment, but I often donβt have time to reply immediately and then I return later and Iβm like, who said that thing? What thread was it in? Sorry everyone for my patchy participationΒ
@tumbleweed-1 Do you have spikes for your shoes? Walking on ice without them is not a good idea. I ended up breaking my wrist last February while walking on ice. I wouldnβt want to break another bone ever in my life but I for sure wouldnβt want to while pregnant. I needed so much narcotics just to alleviate my pain in the ER and I needed them for a few weeks afterwards as well. Anyways, just something to think about it before you take a long walk on ice.Β
We usually only do tv on sundays for my 7yo because he just is happier and more emotionally regulated without it but heβs been watching tv all day for like 2 weeks straight because Iβm so sick that all I can do is lay on the couch. I feel so guilty because I know getting back to normal is going to be the biggest battle.
@justyouraveragemama been there π I was so sick when I was pregnant with my second it was all I could do too. Hang in there. You have nothing to feel guilty about.Β
@justyouraveragemama omg don't feel guilty. My kiddo watches so much tv cuz I work from home and I need her entertained when I'm in all my meetings.Β
@tumbleweed-1 it can be so hard keeping up. Don't feel bad at not replying! It'll get easier as the months go on and we know each other more! Heck I'm in a slack with my old BMB group and still bad at replying all the time in there!Β
@emeraldcity603 good point about the shoe chains. I ended up not trying to go anywhere. Everything is supposed to thaw in the morning pretty quickly, so Iβll see how it looks when I get up.Β
