Hi there! I’m early in first trimester of my first pregnancy (just over 4 weeks) and looking for some support during this nerve wracking time! We officially found out we are pregnant 6 days ago and it already feels like it’s been a year. My symptoms are all over the place. Today I have almost no symptoms, but the previous days I’ve had a mix of morning sickness (pretty minor), sensitivity to cold, breathlessness when I walk up stairs, headaches, and a sensation in my tummy area (uterus obviously) just like something is in there. It’s days like today that freak me out. I have my 3rd and last beta test at my clinic this coming Wednesday the 21st.
Sleep when you need it, I say! I have struggled to sleep through the night this past week, so my goal is to take an extra long wind-down tonight, meditate, and hopefully get at least 7 hours!
I’m 11 weeks and have nausea on and off still but I think I made it through the worst of it. Lots of burping/gassy. Still avoiding meat. Trouble sleeping through night but feeling like I need naps during the day. I can still smell like crazy. The constipation has begun. Definitely have a lot of savory cravings. And dealing with pregnancy rhinitis.
week 10 for me, hit hard. I had been pretty lucky before this but the morning sickness and constipation have been rough this week. I can handle the nausea and occasionally throwing up but this constipation sucks ass.
I’m in week 11. Still super nauseous but not nearly as bad as weeks 7-9. Indigestion seems to be getting worse and just trying to figure out what feels good to eat esp for dinner! Can’t wait for the nausea to go away so I can feel like myself a bit more. I basically could not leave the couch/bed for 3-4 weeks when it was at its worst.
This has been a lifesaver for my morning/all day sickness. My OB/GYN recommended it. There was an entire week that was so bad I stayed in bed... thankfully had the sick time through work I could use. The preggie pops helped in the beginning then the sickness started at a whole new level and now this is all that works. Week 10 and still have some that comes and goes. The gas is unreal! And starting to deal with constipation. I've been trying to eat yogurt each day which was a big help until now.
I am! Hence me joining this community, I feel like I’m over sleeping but I’m honestly taking advantage of my time off of work ( winter break, Elementary school teacher) but I do feel guilty. I definitely have food aversions and can barely stomach a small cup of coffee which is NOT normal. Oh I’m almost 9 weeks
10 weeks here and the morning sickness for me started around week 6. This nausea round the clock is so real! I’m living off of chicken soup, toast, bananas, dry cereal sometimes, and fries. But anything substantial like meat makes me want to gag. I think I’ve actually lost weight throughout this stage, especially since I got covid and that also made me lose more of my appetite. I really can’t wait to eat normal food again! Oh and the constipation is annoying! Anyone have found remedies outside of stool softeners? I started to eat prunes but it’s just making me gassy (and reminding me of my grandma which makes this “geriatric pregnancy” so fitting lol)
I’m 12w6d and I’m starting to get better with the nausea and vomiting. Slowly but surely. I’m also looking for recommendations for constipation as that is a new symptom for me! The stool softeners give me a stomachache.
I am now 13 weeks and the nausea is starting to ease up. I’m still very exhausted and napping regularly still. I can’t wait to get back to a normal diet. I lost a couple of pounds btw my 10-12 week appts. The constipation is real. I can’t swallow pills so I’m using Metamucil again this pregnancy. Last pregnancy I took the drink like every 2-3 days and really helped, more than that I would end up with diarrhea. I am currently trying the Metamucil fiber thins to see if they are as effective, the drink is not very delicious.
@angelarey28 "geriatric pregnancy" here too, haha! I will say my weeks 9-11 were the worst, like yours. I had no appetite, barely ate and certainly didn't gain any weight. I'm now in my 12th week and the past 2 days I've been so hungry, much more energy and barely any nausea at all. Hang in there!!! I'm hoping the closer we get to our 2nd trimester we'll feel better. Activia yogurt was helpful to me with the gas and more regular bathroom habits.
Week 12 here, wholly smokes I am finally starting to feel better and can do normal things (like clean the house and make dinner again!!) I still have days where I can't stay awake, or wake up really nauseated, but the nausea is only once or twice a day instead of every couple hours. I am starting to notice an increase in headaches and heartburn though!
Re: First trimester symptoms still going strong?
how about you?
