Pregnant after IF

Testing after IVF abroad

Hi, where does one go for follow up testing in the weeks after a positive pregnancy test? My OB doesn’t seem to want to order any test for me. I’m thinking LabCorp?

Re: Testing after IVF abroad

  • What kind of testing are you looking for? I did IVF locally, and I got my hcg draw on 9dpt (the first positive test), another a couple of days later to make sure it was doubling, and then an ultrasound around 6-8 weeks, all of which I would've had from my ob if I had become pregnant naturally. After that, I was "released" from the fertility clinic and everything has been the regular ob schedule.

Are you saying your OB won't do a hcg draw or ultrasound? Or are there other tests you're expecting?

  • Labcorp or Quest will usually take walk ins.

You mentioned you did IVF abroad. If you don't mind me asking why did you choose to go abroad, was it cheaper?

IVF abroad is much more affordable. Sites like ivfclinicsabroad or eggdonationfriends provide prices for overseas clinics, making it easier to compare if you're considering treatment abroad.
  • In some cases, you can save up to 50–70% on IVF costs by undergoing treatment in countries like the Czech Republic.
