How did you meet your significant other?

I was a freshman in college, trying to pursue a business degree, and he was a PhD candidate in the biochem department. We did not meet in class (though he did TA one of my best friend's roommates LOL). We met in the ballroom dance club. We started as FWB in december of my freshman year and started dating later on. 

We've been together for 12 years and married 6.5 years.

I was invited to go to the bars with some friends because they last minute decided to come back up to the town I lived in (they moved away a year prior) for New Year’s Eve. While we were there another friend of theirs said he wanted to come say hi to them so we met up with him.

Lots of drinks were had and neither of us were able to drive home and the friends he was originally with left to go home so we crashed our friends hotel room and slept on the pull out couch. We hit it off and have pretty much been inseparable ever since! We’ve been together 4 years now and he moved me back to his hometown 3 years ago!

We were working at a big company together and my colleague was insistent about setting us up. I was not interested in him at all. But he asked me to get lunch and my friend made me go. Haha it was decently fun, but I was still unsure. Then a week later we were all on a business trip in Vegas and he and I hung out the whole time and my mind quickly changed. From there it fell into place pretty quickly. We told our bosses for HR reasons but then eventually both left the company. We’ve been together 7 years and married 4.

@stashattack thank you! It’s actually kind of funny because when we were waiting for him to show up, the rest of our friend group left to go to the next bar and I want to go too and kept saying we didn’t have to wait for him we could just go😂

I moved back to town in March and started on the dating app shortly after. After a bunch of duds, I matched with my now fiancé. We hit it off right away and got engaged 09/30.

We were friends in high school that didn’t start dating till about 12 years later lol. He had tried to make a move soon after we graduated but i only liked him then as a friend.  He had moved to Florida at some point and when I went to visit him, I had the epiphany that I actually really LIKED him. He was brave enough to ask me out again on a date, and the rest is history. Started dating 6 years ago and have been married 3.

I was working in our university athletic department in the development office, and was really close friends with the basketball staff...who wound up getting let go after a couple rough seasons, except one guy who was kept on during the transition. So he called me one day and said I should meet some of the new guys, and I distinctly remember telling him "Absolutely not Jim, OBVIOUSLY I HATE THEM." But then I met one of the assistant coaches around my office and holy lord was he fire-hot. Sooooo one day I did make my way over there before a booster club meeting I had in their building to "stop and say hi before going for a run" (and if you knew me you'd know I detest running and that was absolutely a lie). On my way to his office to flirt a bit, I popped in to say hi to my buddy, who shared his office with the new video guy. And I never did make it to the assistant's office, just stayed talking to the new guy. And then 45 minutes later I actually did run a lap around the building (dumb me, it was May and hot af outside so I had to go to my meeting sweating like a beast) because I was mortified that he might look outside and see me taking the leisurely stroll I'd actually planned on...never mind that the office didn't have a window to the outside. We exchanged numbers after my meeting, went on our first date two days later, and 15 months to the day after that date, we were married. And now this baby is due a week after our 10th anniversary!

Blind double date because our friends wanted a couple to hang out with. We were both so shy it took them setting us up 3 times before he asked me out. Our first was due 2 days before our 5 year anniversary and came three days after. Now I get to break the news to him on our 12th anniversary that #2 is coming.

We went to the same middle and high school but didn’t start dating until 10th grade. We sat next to each other on a bus for an orchestra trip (16 hour ride one direction) and talked the whole time. We came back a couple and for some reason our dating was seen as a scandal. People literally bet on how long we’d make it (with actual money). We’ve been together going on 19 years, married for 14.
