Naming baby after my nickname

My name is Sarah and my parents and other close relatives have called me Sally over the years. When we found out we’re having a girl, my sisters thought Sally would be a cute name. I have an affection for the name anyway and like the sound of it. Is it narcissistic to name baby Sally when my name is Sarah?

It is extremely common to name a child after their father, I see absolutely no issue with naming a child after their mother, especially giving them a cute nickname that is actually a perfectly lovely first name in it's own right. If you and your partner both love the name I'd say go ahead
