Facebook migration

It seemed like everyone was on board with jumping over to Facebook, so I thought we could make the move in the next week or so. We just need to decide on a few things first:

1. Admins--how many? Does anyone want to volunteer for this, should we have a vote, etc?
2. Criteria for being admitted--I've seen where some BMB have members post their interest in joining, and they need a certain # of love it's to be accepted. Not sure if that's how we want to handle it or not

Anything else?

Not sure on migration, this js my first time using bump. It is notttt a great app for communication lol

I think 2-4 admins would be great. Maybe we start with folks that volunteer and if needed, we do a vote from there. 
Just an idea, this is what we did in my last bump group, a private group was created and each potential member had to answer questions (their username, etc) to see if they've been active on the bump first.

I'll also volunteer as admin.  I feel like an odd number of admins is a good idea (3 or 5) just in case anything needs to be voted on at some point?

@returning_bump_member so those were questions on the FB group that they had to answer before being accepted to join, correct? What other kinds of questions were there (if you remember)

I like the idea of an odd number of admins. 3 seems like a pretty good number, unless the 3 of you feel like having 5 would be beneficial. I can volunteer to be a back up or rotate in, if someone needs to take a step back.

@nsk489 Yes, questions to be approved into the group. I wish I remembered the others.  We did have to agree to the rules of the group. For example:
be respectful
Difference of opinions is okay, name calling and any use of propaganda is not
aside from known abbreviations use proper grammar and spelling
if you have an issue, message an admin
No blocking any of the admins

We also made a spreadsheet to know who was who and an easy GTKY at a glance. I can list the columns we used if there is interest in doing that.

Yay so excited for this! I’ve had constant issues with the bump (app and desktop!) so can’t wait to make the move and be more active over there 😊

Yes, please! Getting super frustrated with this site constantly preventing me from replying to posts - I’m so ready to make the switch, and fully support the three of you who’ve already volunteered as admins.

I'm so on board! 3 admins seem good, more like moderators than supervisors. Not throwing any shade at my previous group, but too many cooks thought they were head chefs, lol.

So because I don't have a lot of LOVE I'm not going to be accepted into the new group? Is that correct? I think if we want to join we should he allowed and if we aren't active or just don't vibe with the group than be removed. I just want a chance here guys!

@arelianrae nothing has been decided at this point about how people will gain admission. I think the point is to make sure we're not getting randos who haven't been active in the BMB asking to join. When we move to a private group, I imagine more people will want to share things that they wouldn't feel comfortable sharing on a public board. It's about protection, not about trying to exclude people.

@arelianrae, how we did it in 05/16 was we made a thread for people to reply that they were interested, usually with a sarcasticly eager gif. Then other hit "Love it" if they recognized the username. That board was more active then this, so we set some number of Love it's required/as a guideline. It wasn't about how many Love it's you have gotten on all of your comments, but that was an easy way to quantify if people recognized your name.

@arelianrae as @trubaby411 mentioned, the idea is to make sure we don't end up with a bunch of random catfishes who are gonna doxx us. I looked through your history and even though you haven't posted a lot, you've posted a bunch over the course of last few months. No promises, but I think you should be OK.

In my last BMB, a few of us stuck around on this app for a bit and continued posting, just in case there were some stragglers who maybe weren't as active when we made the initial switch to a private group. It gave them a chance to participate/engage, and then we could vouch for them if they wanted to join the private group.

@nsk489 same, and there were actually quite a few people who started posting way late, after most of us had moved over initially. Turns out there were tons of lurkers who thought the forum moved too quickly when it was busy, they came out after it p much died. They seemed content here though, I don’t think any of them came over afterwards.

I am up to moving to FB!  Any criteria we decide on is good for me. 

My last Bmb had 5 admin, and those admin were the ones who we trusted to vote/decide on who was admitted to the FB group.  It worked out well because even if maybe 1 or 2 didn't recognize you or feel you were active enough, if the others interacted with you more they could still include you.

I’m down for FB migration but should we wait maybe one more week? Seems like there might be some people who would appreciate the chance to be more involved.

@iiirene that sounds good to me if others agree.  I don't want to exclude anyone just because we jump the gun and move early.

Thank you @acleverusername, I've really tried to be more involved. I was super active with my son who is now almost 11 and honestly completely lost this time around as it's been 5 years since my last.

Hi guys! I'm back from Disney vaca & glad I didn't miss the migration! Also adding that in my last BMBs that moved over to FB - in order to prove you weren't a catfisher, you had to share a current bump pic, with your face, holding a handwritten sign that said something specific (like today's date, or a picture of something random we chose (ie. it was a pineapple picture in my last BMB). This proved that you were a real pregnant person engaging with us and not some random creep. The pictures were submit to the admins I believe via message on the Bump- I can't recall that logistic entirely - maybe it was sent via PM on FB once you tried to join. - just adding in case we're interested in that level of security!

@MsBeachNJ definitely agree that we should do something like that! Also looks like we've had some stragglers pop in this last week so is everyone ok with waiting a couple more weeks to make the FB move?

Agree would love to get switched over! My app/desktop website is still so wonky and not under friendly 😭 sometimes it won’t let me post for a week at a time!
