It’s a year and a half old, but this is one of my favorite views on one of my favorite hikes with one of my favorite dogs (my parents’). This is also where my husband proposed when Covid disrupted his plans, and I’m excited to take my son on this hike someday (just not when he’s in the run-away toddler stage 😅). I miss these views, the Midwest has many charms but mountains aren’t among them.
@fertile-turtle that looks like a very rewarding hike! My favorite are the ones with great views at the end like that. I’ll have to share my favorite view I’ve found so far next!
My most favorite hike so far! There was a drop off right there in front of us. I had my dad take the picture and he was terrified I was gonna fall haha We could see the rain coming and it was the coolest thing ever! This one was in Asheville, NC
We only have woods to hike through here, but got to go to the Badlands in South Dakota a couple years ago for our family road trip. The views were amazing! Bottom photo is our typical wooded hike in Wisconsin. 😜
@amccurls it is a really rewarding hike! It’s a loop if you take like half a mile of road at the end, and it has several very short spurs to these rocky overlooks and cliffs. Sometimes you can find rock climbers coming up the cliff faces, and you can watch white water rafters go down the river. It’s the Endless Wall Trail at the New River Gorge in WV, and I miss it being basically in my backyard.
@skibunnie2 British Columbia is so gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! ❤️ We spent our babymoon in Vancouver Island a couple months ago and adored the experience! The hiking amongst the evergreens and surrounded with water was so refreshing for us!
