Wrong due date?

I’m 34 weeks as of 11-11-22 and I went to the hospital for abdominal and back pain(contractions?) on 11-12-22 and found out I was 1cm dilated already. My mom thinks they may have gotten my due date wrong and instead of being due Dec 24th I’m due Nov. 26th 😳 I was planning on going on maternity leave around winter break so I don’t have to use a lot of my sick/personal time but holy crap my baby girl is coming!!

How was your due date determined? That's typically confirmed by early ultrasound, which is pretty accurate. When you went for your anatomy scan around 20 weeks, if the due date was that far off, you would've had an abnormally large baby; did they talk to you about that? Generally, they're not going to be that far off with EDD, unless you haven't had any prenatal care and don't remember when your last period was. However, that doesn't mean you're not experiencing contractions. But the more logical conclusion would be "my baby might be premature" rather than "they got the due date wrong by a month". Thankfully, you can be 1cm dilated for weeks, so it doesn't necessarily mean baby is coming now. I hope you're feeling better now and baby stays in there to cook as long as he/she needs to!

I walked around 4cm dilated for 3 weeks. Just because you are dilated now doesn't necessarily mean labor is in the near future.  

Due dates are not exact science they are just estimates and babies do - by for some reason- decide to come early.
