Can I dye my roots 21 weeks pregnant

I haven’t touched up my roots for longer than 7-8 months now and my hair is looking horrible.
My past two pregnancies I left my hair alone and dealt with it this is my 3rd and I read that you can but don’t let it touch your scalp which it has to to get the roots. Any moms dyed their roots during their 2nd trimester and their babies were fine?

Yes, women get their hair dyed all the time pregnant.  Just make sure you are in a ventilated room and enjoy. Its very highly unlikely it will do anything to the fetus.

When I discussed it with my midwives they told me after the first trimester just make sure in a well ventilated room. I just had mine done a couple of weeks into second trimester

I asked my doctor about this and she said it’s okay after the first trimester. I have a root touch up appt scheduled for next Tuesday, and I am long overdue! I’ll wear a mask, just to help with the fumes a bit, but it seems pretty standard for women to dye their hair/roots while pregnant.

Hair dressers certainly don’t stop working while pregnant. Plenty of women get their hair dyed while pregnant. I’ve been having my roots done every 6 weeks the whole time (3rd baby to boot). Certainly I think being cautious and if you are really worried, you can skip first trimester and resume in the 2nd since all the major body parts and pieces are formed.
