2nd Trimester

Should I be concerned?

This is my first time every being pregnant so I only have so much information on what to expect or how being pregnant is supposed to feel. I recently just hit 25 weeks and at my recent appt my blood pressure was higher than usual, 146/86. The nurse told me my doctor may have me start monitoring my blood pressure. I have type two diabetes and I a heavier gal. Before I got pregnant I lose close to 100 pound but I’m slowly gaining a lot of that weight back. My doctor didn’t mention anything about my blood pressure during the appt. I also have started to have headaches like I did in the first trimester. I’m not sure if I’m overreacting or if I should be concerned

Re: Should I be concerned?

  • I would just make it a point to talk to your doctor about it next appt. And if you’re worried, give them a call. They are probably going to start looking more into it if your next BP reading is high. Definitely track your headaches and any other pre-e symptoms and mention them to your doctor. headaches can be normal but they can also not be. I had high BP but not until 39 weeks. Best of luck!
