Hi everyone! Sorry I've been so out of the loop. Work has been absolutely kicking my butt lately and I'm barely keeping my head above water   But I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, be here more as things get even more real, etc.--hopefully in time for the FB migration because I'd love to have this community for the next phase of life if y'all will still have me

EDD / Weeks + Days: January 15 / 30w1d

Upcoming Appointments: Virtual appointment this Wednesday; in-person visit with u/s on November 21

How are you feeling?: Everything hurts so much. My heart feels strained and I run out of breath walking across the room. I didn't feel like this until right at the end with #1, so going through it for months is...interesting!

Rants/Raves: Rant--love my job but it's just. so. much, and I know I'll never get caught up. Raves--had a nice weekend that was a good mix of productivity and fun with friends. My NFL team won. And we get some beautiful weather for the next few days before it takes a turn for freezing.

Questions: I have lots of questions about cloth diapering (we didn't do it with #1 but are considering it for #2), but I'll search through recent threads to see if this has already been covered

GTKY: How are you "nesting" this third trimester!? I haven't been able to do a single thing Hitting 30 weeks has made everything seem so real all of a sudden, and some panic is setting in! Gotta start making some progress...

@L1C4gal sounds like a lot, but hope your work stress eases up! I honestly don’t think I could handle my previous full time responsibilities right now, so kudos to you & anyone who’s managing it!

Upcoming Appointments: just this morning, next 11/22 and size check us 12/2

How are you feeling?: out of breath 😥 some days are worse than others. Though my ankle pain has finally stopped altogether—compression socks, who knew 😅

Rants/Raves: not sure I have any this week. Enjoying the nicer weather for the moment, I suppose. It’s the longest I’ve ever gone without wearing a winter coat at least once 😅

GTKY: How are you "nesting" this third trimester!? I go in fits and spurts. A lot of my focus is trying to establish household management routines, which I’ve always been terrible at and always prioritized an outside job before. Transitioning into a sahm is leading to a lot of house care focus even if it’s not necessarily baby specific

also I totally agree with you as I’m feeling the exact same with my second! I was pretty good until 38 weeks with my first but this time around everything hurts lol 

@cc_clark yay win for the compression garments! I’ve been wearing wrist ones and they’ve been helping my “mommy wrist” tremendously!
congrats on the transition to SAHM! I always thought I wanted to be one until I went on my first Maternity leave, then I realized I am a much better mama working actually, but I still kind of mourn the loss of the whole idea of it because it’s really beautiful for moms to be able to stay home with their babies!

Rants/Raves: we are having a bathroom renovated and it is coming along so well! Downside is the current mess.

GTKY: How are you 'nesting" this third trimester!? I finally ordered my pump, does that count? Otherwise I've been building online carts of things I should buy but haven't.  Once house projects are done for a while I need to pull out all the NB and baby stuff from the attic and get it cleaned.

How are you feeling?: BIG lol everything feels stretched to max capacity and if I do too much I really pay for it with the soreness but I’m finding balance between doing things and stretching/resting 

Rants/Raves: my husband took our 23 month old son deer hunting for the week and I was super anxious about it at first but they are having a great time and I am SERIOUSLY enjoying sleeping and just having the house to myself 

Questions: headband/bow recommendations for baby girls that won’t break the bank but are also Uber soft lol?

How am I not nesting lmao, I have cleaned out and organized ALL the closets on my main floor and purged/ organized our toy room AND storage room today lmao I also started on the cherry blossom tree wall decal I bought for baby girls room and I am so anxious and a excited to see how it turns out! I am not very artistic or good at these type of things but I really wanted to do something  to make her nursery super cute as I’m still kicking myself in the butt for never really decorating my sons room!

@L1C4gal I don’t think we’ve talked about cloth diapering here that much! We’re going to attempt cloth diapering ourselves. I really wanted to try out the Esembly but we were given a bunch of second-hand AlvaBaby so we’re gonna try those first and take it from there. For wipes, we bought the Esembly cloth wipes from Amazon and plan to use a wipe solution of Dr. Bronners unscented soap, coconut oil, and water. I heard this solution is great for cleaning baby’s bottom and preventing rashes!

How are you feeling?: Still feeling good. I think we’re on schedule to have things ready by baby’s arrival - even though we haven’t started on the nursery yet! That should start next week. 

Rants/Raves: Raving about a rainy day here in Southern California. I took a break from barre today and have a prenatal yoga class queued up. It’s gonna be a good day. 

Questions: Gel nail polish! Is this a big no-no for birth? 

GTKY: How are you "nesting" this third trimester!? It’s funny cause husband and I have been purging our closets, books, kitchen cabinets and didn’t realize that’s basically nesting until someone called it out. That’s where we are right now.

How are you feeling?: All the typical third trimester stuff. Sore back, exhausted but can’t sleep, constantly having to pee.

Rants/Raves: My MIL has been watching our son a lot so my husband and I can get things done and it’s been the biggest help.

Questions: none.

GTKY: How are you "nesting" this third trimester!? We need to use the nursery as a guest room until after baby comes, so I can’t really do much nesting.  We did just start a complete bathroom remodel though, does that count?

@r_kenn99 big no no to help polish! If things go south and they need to get your O2 sats they have to take a hot min to find remover and remove the polish before they can! And gel is reallly hard to get off! 

@beccaneu my MIL has been watching my son lots too this third trimester and it’s been so helpful! I am also thinking of tackling a slight bathroom Reno prep baby now that I’ve got most of everything else checked off my to do list lol

How are you feeling?:  Uncomfortable 😮‍💨  But ok in general.

Rants/Raves:  My rant is snow! We just got our first bug dump of the year and the roads are a mess. And it's so, so cold 🥶 Winter has barely started and I'm alreasy tired of it.

Questions:  No questions but the nail polish thing is totally new to me and this is my second. Never even thought of that before. 

GTKY: How are you "nesting" this third trimester!?  Nothing yet but I have a list of stuff that needs to be done.  A very daunting list that I should get started on...
