Any issues/concerns? I’m being monitored for gestational diabetes, but that’s more a pre pregnancy weight thing than an age thing. It’s not a fun time though.
How are you feeling? Okay so far - hopefully this little nugget contributes to grow and thrive. I’m taking it one day at a time…
Any issues/concerns? Waiting anxiously on NIPT results. Hoping to hear good news in the next few days 💕 Also looking forward to making it to the second trimester so I can breathe a little easier.
👋Hi. I am AMA. I turned 40 a couple of weeks ago. My most recent OB paperwork actually used the word *elderly*. In print and digital format.😆
I am 12 weeks. I feel every bit as elderly as the label that has been applied. As per my other weekly check in, I generally feel like poop these days. Hoping for an easier second trimester. 🤞
How are you feeling? I feel like my first trimester symptoms are starting to wear off. My main symptom to this point has been really bad fatigue - I’ve had a few days where I felt like my old self, although the last two days the tiredness returned. A little bit of nausea as well, but nothing too bad.
Any issues/concerns? I guess my biggest fear is the increased risk of genetic or chromosomal abnormalities with my age. I actually have my appointment to go over the blood work and NT ultrasound today with my OB, think good thoughts! I also have a high BMI, which my doctor has graciously never mentioned. I am generally healthy though, I work out 4-6 days a week, eat a healthy diet, and all of my blood work and vitals have always been perfect, so hoping that continues throughout pregnancy.
How far along are you? I’m 12 weeks and 3 days (but the doc just changed me to 13 weeks and 3 days 🙄) I’m sticking with 12 though.
How old are you? 37
How are you feeling? Nauseated and tired. If I don’t eat every two hours I feel like the world is falling around me 🥴🤢
Any issues/concerns? Was told to take low dose aspirin everyday because of my “age” 🙄 on top of being put on thyroid medication and managing prenatal vitamins and an iron supplement. Pregnancy in my 20’s was never this complicated 😭
How are you feeling? Have turned a corner over the last week and feel much better with both nausea and fatigue improving. It still comes in waves though. Also starting to get my appetite back!
Any issues/concerns? Feeling very anxious about babies health, we got pregnant through IVF and it’s been a long journey to get here. I thought I’d feel better after NIPS results which came back low risk but now I’m nervous about the 18 week ultrasound. I’m hoping my nerves will subside soon and I can enjoy the 2nd trimester. Any tips for managing anxiety are appreciated!
How are you feeling? Still in the throes of nausea, headaches, and all that fun stuff. I had it with my first pregnancy so I was somewhat more prepared this time than last time, but still sucks. Hoping to get some relief soon.
Any issues/concerns? NIPT draw is on Thursday along with the NT scan. I'm hoping I'll be able to relax a little more if both of those have a good result.
@almost40npreg my doctor mentioned that in passing last appointment because of previous high blood pressure issues. I’m going to discuss it again today now that I’m 14w.
@ashleyp625 a friend of mine had to take it her last trimester after having Covid while pregnant. Apparently it’s used as a preventative for preeclampsia and blood clots due to Covid and whatever other issues “old ppl” have in pregnancy 😑 lol!
Was told to take low dose aspirin everyday because of my “age” 🙄
I couldn't get in within the appropriate window to see my preferred OB, so my first appointment was scheduled with a NP and the rest were scheduled with the preferred OB. The NP mentioned starting me on aspirin in the second trimester (to prevent clots?) because I am on migraine preventives. At my second appointment with the actual OB, this was not mentioned at all. I guess I need to ask... All I need in my life is one more pill to choke down!!
@radioactivet def ask about it. My bestie who is a a FNP was thoroughly confused as to why I was told to take it, but she (who is a year older than me) just had a baby last month and was never told to be on low dose aspirin. She basically went through all of my meds and made sure it was safe to take aspirin with them, lol. Then told me to make sure I have my OB run an iron panel every time she checks my thyroid.
My IVF nurse used the term geriatric pregnancy. Felt like I should have a walker! I’m 36, be 37 next week and this is my first pregnancy. I knew going in this was going to be high risk but the anxiety and fear that I’m going to do something wrong and cause issues on myself just won’t go away. The fact I keep spotting isn’t helping my mental state at all.
How are you feeling? Still pretty nauseous and over the first trimester feeling in general
Any issues/concerns? None. I had lots of questions about my age in my first pregnancy at 35, and ended up having a normal pregnancy and healthy baby. I just wanted to echo what cait32 said about age not necessarily equating to high risk. I totally get how easy it is to be worried, especially with the unflattering terms used and the way people speak about it, but unless the doctors have found cause for concern you’re most likely all good!
How are you feeling? Alright. I’ve been out by sinus congestion for almost a week now. Just extremely tired and ready to eat what I want again. Nausea is slowly going away.
Any issues/concerns? I have a short interval pregnancy. I’m due when my DS will be only 11 months. And I’m overweight and have a family history of both GD and preeclampsia. So I’m being monitored for all the things. My OB just sent in a prescription for a daily baby aspirin to prevent preeclampsia. I had never even thought I would need that. Are there any risks? Any one have experience faking it during pregnancy?
@mandybest917 I’m taking baby aspirin as of 13 or 14 weeks, I believe it was. I’m 15 weeks now. The doctor recommended it due to past blood pressure issues in my previous pregnancy.
* I’ve tried to change my username but it’s not working…
14w 4d 42 yrs old How am I feeling? The first trimester I felt more tired than I have probably since my first child was born. I was starting to get some pep in my step and then I caught a cold🤧
Issues? Yes. I spent the first two months constantly spotting. I also had 5 instances of threatened miscarriage. Like, scary I can feel the blood dripping out of me moments. Thankfully I’ve been bleed free for a month now and no spotting for 2 weeks. (The MFM was unable to figure out why.) I was just starting to be optimistic when I got the results from my NIPT. They were unable to determine if there is an issue with the sex chromosomes. I have to wait for week 16 for amino to find out if my baby will be born with a possibly debilitating disability. The scan today saw no obvious issues so at least I can hold on to the fact that she’ll probably survive.
Sorry not sorry for the long post. If anyone else is going through this I don’t want them to feel as alone as I have.
That’s so tough / sending love! And you’re not alone - a friend of my mine had a similar situation where the sex chromosomes came back inconclusive. Went in for a higher powered ultrasound (opted not to do amino) and everything was okay. Thinking of you 💕
How are you feeling? Thankful the first trimester is behind us... But just as I was getting out of that, COVID ran through our house. We're all finally on the mend, so looking forward to the second trimester honeymoon period finally starting.
Any issues/concerns? So far just some minor bleeding here and there, which after some extra ultrasounds were chalked up to a SCH. All of our testing has come back good so far, and my last ultrasound didn't see the SCH any more so hopefully we're in the clear for issues at this point
@spookyallyear so sorry to hear about your NIPT results! I can imagine what you're going through, but we're here to talk to or vent to when you need to
How are you feeling? Light headed, sick to nearly all foods, headaches, tired. I have some good days. Scared, nervous I’ve had 6 mc.
Any issues/concerns? Besides my numerous mcs I’ve had preterm labor with my 2 living children. I go in every 2 weeks for cervical length ultrasounds. Preparing to start bed rest within the next few weeks. I started bed rest at 20w with my first and 16w with my second. I’m inching towards viability mark and holding my breath. Very worried but trying to be as positive as can be while trying to enjoy every moment.
Hey, I'm 42 and 17 weeks pregnant as of today (due May 1st). I feel exhausted 24/7 and I have a permanent headache and dizziness. I'm off work already because work is impossible. But baby so far is very healthy! Started feeling little boops inside this week.
How are you feeling? My energy and nadeau has improved. I have been trying to take it easy and pay attention to my body more and get more sleep as well as pushing myself to walk for exercise. My bump is now prominent and maternity clothes are starting to fit.
Issues/concerns? I watch myself for thyroid symptoms, unusual heart palpitations and anemia. I am also so hungry these days I get so ravenous! I try hard to eat every few hours but with work it can sometimes be a challenge. I have gained more weight earlier than in my first pregnancy so I am trying to be more aware of this and the potential for gestational diabetes.
Given past hyperthyroidism which provided me much experience in anxiety…I try to manage it by accepting my emotions and talking about it with those I trust. Some days I use journaling or doodling while listening to relaxing music. Sometimes I just need positive affirmations. And sometimes a walk in nature for about 10-15 min or breakdancing to a great song work. It’s not always easy and managing it with a busy schedule can be difficult. Oh yeah, taking three deep breaths can work wonders too
I am feeling good and ready for a long Thanksgiving weekend. Getting comfy to sleep is difficult as my husband snores and our 15 year old dog suffers from canine cognitive disorder and likes to be active at night when we are trying to sleep.
So far all of our genetic testing has come back negative and we are expecting a baby girl.

How are you feeling? Overall not bad I have had hardly any symptoms the whole 1st trimester. Now I have no desire for food. Some mild muscle soreness.
Any issues/concerns? Still very nervous after trying for 15 yrs and giving up. Surprise pregnancy that is very welcome but also anxious.

How are you feeling? Good, shocking no morning sickness
