How are you feeling?: good other than nausea
Rants/Raves: taking my kids trick or treating shortly

    EDD/Weeks+Days: EDD 4/12; 16&5

Baby is the size of: not sure

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: 11/17 for a check in and 11/23 for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: mostly better. Nausea still comes back every now and again, but much better than it was. I am having a strange tightness in my abdomen that I just posted about on the symptom board though. That's new and weird.

Rants/Raves: last week and this week are nuts at work. I'm exhausted already and we've only made it through Monday. I'm sure I will be crawling to the finish line by Friday. On another note, DH and I are planning to go scope out baby products this weekend, so that might be fun.. Or overwhelming haha, not sure which.

    Team blue/pink/green: pink 💖
Upcoming Appointments: 11/28 get to bring my mom who is traveling for TDay to my appointment on her birthday and I’m so excited to surprise her that morning. It’s her first grand baby. Waiting to schedule anatomy scan soon!
How are you feeling?: Decent, headaches are finally subsiding. Feeling like I just popped over the weekend and showed up to work pregnant. Trying not to overthink the insecurity of looking really bloated and wanting to hide. Weird FTM thing I’m sure.
Rants/Raves: The hormones have made me so irritable. I’m sure my partner wants a vacation from me, I think I do too. Need to breathe a little bit more! Now that I’m starting to show and in the sweet second trimester I’m wishing I had mom or mom to be friends. My mom friends live far away and their kids are much older so it feels kind of lonely when I’m the only one in my friend group expecting/planning to start a family. Nice to chat with the April moms and see everyone’s journey now.

@scaredunprepared I hope DS gets better soon!
@etnyah oh boy I feel like your description of your morning is a perfect sex-ed campaign lol.
    @nsk489 what a cute little chick! ❤️
@cortsull0724I can’t believe they didn’t let you know beforehand that the build is so behind schedule! I hope you figure something out quick.
@trubaby411 good luck baby shopping! It WILL be overwhelming! I am using this list to guide what to buy. https://www.leleki.com/baby-registry-list
@jesslynnkess is the Dr appointment the surprise or is the pregnancy? Either way, it’s  a very sweet present.
@iiirene definitely get a CBC, and iron panel and a Vitamin D at least!

    EDD/Weeks+Days: Apr 1, 2023 / 18+2

Baby is the size of: nope

Team blue/pink/green: it’s still a secret! I’ve only told my providers and completely random ppl I’ll never see again.

Upcoming Appointments: Nov 7 — my “final” (I hope!) appointment with my RI; Nov 11 — 20 week appointment; Nov 14 — for the completion of my Anatomy scan.

How are you feeling?: I got a decent amount of sleep this weekend (however restless, given night sweats and crazy CRAZY dreams) so I’m actually feeling pretty good today! I hope it keeps up this week. A colleague actually commented that I looked “good” (he’s known I was preggo since I was 7 weeks and has definitely seen me look “not good” in the last few months).

Rants/Raves: H and I got an absolutely giant pumpkin this weekend (it was like 50-75lbs) and last-minute carved it during lunch today. We also decorated for Halloween at lunch. Lol. Better late than never, right?

I’m also just looking forward to the next month or so leading up to the holidays. It’s nice to know there are breaks coming up, and I’ll be off for 2 weeks during Christmas!

Anyways, I’m in good spirits. I hope it lasts!

ETA: okay so I’m not ALL that awesome. Lol. My belly (and really most everywhere) is super itchy to the point that I was thinking I might have shingles or some other issue this weekend. But I have talked myself off the ledge for now. And also my boobs are so incredibly sore. I mean… ouch. And they’re huge too. And I’m getting pretty visible varicose veins in my boobs and upper chest area. Delightful.

@cortsull0724 goodness that is quite the delay!! Hopefully they are able to make up for some lost time 🤞

@jesslynnkess I definitely understand the loneliness of becoming a FTM without having any mom friends nearby! I made some mom friends after my son was born by finding groups/activities near me, like a mommy & me group, swim class, etc. It's hard and awkward at first!

@iiirene I wouldn't feel bad about requesting bloodwork bc you just never know! But I also wouldn't count out being extra tired bc you have a full time job and toddler to keep up with 🤪 I definitely feel more tired this time around than my first pregnancy, and I'm thinking it's bc I can't sneak as many naps or sleep in!

@acleverusername ok that is impressive that you carved a huge pumpkin! We grew some big ones this year (the biggest was maybe 85 lbs? But most were in that 50-70 range) and no way was I going to attempt carving any of them. I feel like I would have injured myself 🤣
  • @allykat92 that is ridiculous that they haven't approved your vacation! Managment needs to find a way to handle that week without you, bc that just isn't fair otherwise. If you have vacation days you're entitled to use them!

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/11; 17 weeks

Baby is the size of: some random object

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink 💕

Upcoming Appointments: 11/21 for my anatomy scan. So anxious for this one.

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good (other than constantly overthinking about how the little babe is doing). I’ve had some minor heartburn and the feeling of being very full. I’ve also started to lose my breath easily when working out.

Rants/Raves: Major rant! We started calling daycares in our area and almost every single one has a waitlist of anywhere from a year and a half to two years. Like how is that even possible?! I had no idea it was a thing to put yourself on a waitlist 6 months to a year prior to even being pregnant?! We’re honestly at a loss of what to do. Worst case scenario:  we’ll be driving 30-45 minutes in the opposite direction from work just to have access to a facility that has an opening in our timeframe.
  • @v_flowers perhaps considering a nanny might be a better option? I know a few people who have gone the nanny route, and it seems like less advance time is necessary to get things arranged than daycares. Could be a temporary option until your preferred daycare becomes available. 🤷‍♀️
  • @etnyah @nsk489 Right? I keep asking and they just tell me they aren't sure yet. Granted, we have had a lot lf changes in our office with people being promoted to a different office so we are shorthanded. But it has been months and nothing. My coworkers said they would be fine and they want me to tske my vacation but still waiting 😬

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 16 weeks, due April 19
Baby is the size of: a dill pickle
Team blue/pink/green: we know, we found out last week! :) Will share here soon!
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until my Anatomy scan on 11/21
How are you feeling?:  Still pretty good! I'm trying to continue my workouts on my Peloton, but it's funny just how quickly you find you can't keep up the way you used to! I keep having to remind myself that is ok!
    Rants/Raves:
rave: My son had a great time trick-or-treating and attending halloween parties this year! He was a doctor and loved his scrubs and stethoscope! Ice was originally going to be a construction worker but refused (and I mean refused!) to even put on the vest... I sent it to school with him on Halloween and sure enough, I get a photo from his teacher with the vest and the hard hat on. :D his teacher said he put it on, no problem - I had to laugh!  I'm not big on Halloween but I'm looking forward to next year when he's 3 because I think he will "get it" even more!

rant: I get bad seasonal allergies and this year + being pregnant I feel like I have had the sniffles/congestion or a lingering cough for WEEKS. I am normally pretty healthy so this is absolutely driving me insane!
  • @trubaby411
We’re definitely thinking about a part-time nanny until a slot opens up in our preferred daycare. We would just have to ask family to help fill in the gaps. I know that a lot could change between now and the time I will actually need childcare, but we definitely spiraled when we made those first phone calls. The US makes it very difficult to have two working parents in the home.
  • @nonlinear_function Seriously lol’d at the thought of bringing a baby to the high school. My 9th graders’ heads would explode. They can barely contain themselves when a bird is outside the window.
  • @nonlinear_function wow that's crazy you've had so many childcare issues!  How frustrating.
  • @v_flowers middle/high schoolers are just bigger 4 year olds with more hormones. I’m sorry for your and @nonlinear_function childcare issues. It is so frustrating. Even in a city where there are 4 childcare centers within a mile of my house the waitlists are insane. Not to mention the cost. It is looking more than likely that I will take a few years off of teaching and go back when my kids are in school.

    EDD/Weeks+Days: 17 weeks today, April 12th edd
Baby is the size of: pomegranate
Team blue/pink/green: it could go either way honestly

Upcoming Appointments: next check up on 11/16, anatomy  scan 12/3 since the ultrasound tech is out starting that Wednesday before Thanksgiving

How are you feeling?: this pregnancy has been so much different than my first. My nausea basically stopped at 14 weeks, no more migraines. Still tired but I thunk that's just more because I'm trying to work and take care of my toddler and home full time and it's a lot to keep up with. And I'm suddenly starving all the time which is a real problem since I really need to watch my weight

Rants/Raves: we've been trying to get my daughter into a better sleeping routine and thankfully 1 week in, she is doing so well and it makes my night so much less stressful when she is actually asleep by 9 instead of 11 lol
