How are you feeling?: Great other than sleep deprived and sore when I wake up Rants/Raves: DS's first birthday/baptism is coming up in 2 weeks. He currently has a bad case of HFM so I really hope it clears up by then and he doesn't have scars for pics He hasn't been sleeping, which doesn't help my exhaustion. Last night was the first time he slept through the night in what feels like forever! This morning DD decided she didn't want to be a monkey for Halloween, and demanded a tiger costume. So i threw together a tiger in 2 hours for her. Phew!
How are you feeling?: Like dogshit. I keep getting mild colds and when I do, the nausea returns. Today I was late to work because I couldn’t get out of bed because of a headache, and as I was about to leave I had to run to the bathroom to puke, and then I peed myself while puking so I had to change. Pregnancy is so glamorous.
Rants/Raves: I just need these constant illnesses to end. My son has a horrible cough too, but otherwise he’s in good spirits. We’re skipping Halloween this year because he’s refusing to wear a costume and is scared of strangers. We went to a trick or treating event at his school Friday, all the teaches were handing out treats, he said “no” every time they asked if he wanted anything. It’s overwhelming, I get it! We’re more into Christmas than Halloween anyway.
@scaredunprepared ughhh your family has got to be over this illness soon, not fair! And especially not when his birthday and baptism is coming up. Poor little guy and mama.

How are you feeling?: I got a decent amount of sleep this weekend (however restless, given night sweats and crazy CRAZY dreams) so I’m actually feeling pretty good today! I hope it keeps up this week. A colleague actually commented that I looked “good” (he’s known I was preggo since I was 7 weeks and has definitely seen me look “not good” in the last few months).
Rants/Raves: H and I got an absolutely giant pumpkin this weekend (it was like 50-75lbs) and last-minute carved it during lunch today. We also decorated for Halloween at lunch. Lol. Better late than never, right?
I’m also just looking forward to the next month or so leading up to the holidays. It’s nice to know there are breaks coming up, and I’ll be off for 2 weeks during Christmas!
Anyways, I’m in good spirits. I hope it lasts!
ETA: okay so I’m not ALL that awesome. Lol. My belly (and really most everywhere) is super itchy to the point that I was thinking I might have shingles or some other issue this weekend. But I have talked myself off the ledge for now. And also my boobs are so incredibly sore. I mean… ouch. And they’re huge too. And I’m getting pretty visible varicose veins in my boobs and upper chest area. Delightful.

@cortsull0724 goodness that is quite the delay!! Hopefully they are able to make up for some lost time 🤞
@jesslynnkess I definitely understand the loneliness of becoming a FTM without having any mom friends nearby! I made some mom friends after my son was born by finding groups/activities near me, like a mommy & me group, swim class, etc. It's hard and awkward at first!
@iiirene I wouldn't feel bad about requesting bloodwork bc you just never know! But I also wouldn't count out being extra tired bc you have a full time job and toddler to keep up with 🤪 I definitely feel more tired this time around than my first pregnancy, and I'm thinking it's bc I can't sneak as many naps or sleep in!
@acleverusername ok that is impressive that you carved a huge pumpkin! We grew some big ones this year (the biggest was maybe 85 lbs? But most were in that 50-70 range) and no way was I going to attempt carving any of them. I feel like I would have injured myself 🤣

Rants/Raves: my job has been so busy it is driving me kind of nuts. We have people who have been out sick or in vacation and I'm stuck covering for them all. I requested the week of Thanksgiving off work so I could have a break. I requested in August and it still hasn't been approved. Management doesn't know if they can handle that week without me. Like, it is nice to be valued but I just want a vacation! Everyone else has been going off to other countries and I can't get 3 days approved for a staycation 😑 it really is frustrating

It feels like it takes forever for me to kick it, only to end up sick again a few weeks later. Maybe I'm just tired and grouchy, but....that's where I'm at this morning....
@allykat92 that is ridiculous that they haven't approved your vacation! Managment needs to find a way to handle that week without you, bc that just isn't fair otherwise. If you have vacation days you're entitled to use them!
@allykat92 that kind of stuff makes me so mad! If they can’t deal without you, that’s a problem they’ve created for themselves and you shouldn’t have to take the hit for it. What if you were planning on going out of town?? You’d have to wait until plane tickets were the price of diamonds just because of their ineptitude. They don’t own you.

Upcoming Appointments: 11/21 for my anatomy scan. So anxious for this one.
How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good (other than constantly overthinking about how the little babe is doing). I’ve had some minor heartburn and the feeling of being very full. I’ve also started to lose my breath easily when working out.
Rants/Raves: Major rant! We started calling daycares in our area and almost every single one has a waitlist of anywhere from a year and a half to two years. Like how is that even possible?! I had no idea it was a thing to put yourself on a waitlist 6 months to a year prior to even being pregnant?! We’re honestly at a loss of what to do. Worst case scenario: we’ll be driving 30-45 minutes in the opposite direction from work just to have access to a facility that has an opening in our timeframe.
@v_flowers perhaps considering a nanny might be a better option? I know a few people who have gone the nanny route, and it seems like less advance time is necessary to get things arranged than daycares. Could be a temporary option until your preferred daycare becomes available. 🤷♀️
@etnyah@nsk489 Right? I keep asking and they just tell me they aren't sure yet. Granted, we have had a lot lf changes in our office with people being promoted to a different office so we are shorthanded. But it has been months and nothing. My coworkers said they would be fine and they want me to tske my vacation but still waiting 😬

Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until my Anatomy scan on 11/21 How are you feeling?: Still pretty good!I'm trying to continue my workouts on my Peloton, but it's funny just how quickly you find you can't keep up the way you used to! I keep having to remind myself that is ok! Rants/Raves:
rave: My son had a great time trick-or-treating and attending halloween parties this year! He was a doctor and loved his scrubs and stethoscope! Ice was originally going to be a construction worker but refused (and I mean refused!) to even put on the vest... I sent it to school with him on Halloween and sure enough, I get a photo from his teacher with the vest and the hard hat on. his teacher said he put it on, no problem - I had to laugh! I'm not big on Halloween but I'm looking forward to next year when he's 3 because I think he will "get it" even more!
rant: I get bad seasonal allergies and this year + being pregnant I feel like I have had the sniffles/congestion or a lingering cough for WEEKS. I am normally pretty healthy so this is absolutely driving me insane!
@trubaby411 We’re definitely thinking about a part-time nanny until a slot opens up in our preferred daycare. We would just have to ask family to help fill in the gaps. I know that a lot could change between now and the time I will actually need childcare, but we definitely spiraled when we made those first phone calls. The US makes it very difficult to have two working parents in the home.
Baby is the size of: an Avocado. My daughter (6) is very interested in how the baby is growing, so she watches the little video each week and gives me the recap.
Team blue/pink/green:
Upcoming Appointments: Currently waiting 40+ minutes for one right now.
How are you feeling?: Fine. I still have the nausea from temperature changes, but nothing else. I know heartburn will be back soon, but this pregnancy is so different from my first two that I can't really be sure of anything.
Rants/Raves: I went to a college friend's wedding 4 hours away last weekend, and while it was great to see my college friends again, I'm bummed I missed all the pre-Halloween stuff with my kids. My parents kept them and did some of it, so I'm the only one who knows what we missed, but it's still less than ideal. Their wedding had no connection to Halloween, so why pick that weekend?
@v_flowers I feel your daycare pain! I have had such struggles getting my kids in and KEEPING them in daycare (one closed, one kicked 3 kids out to take her grandkids) these last 6 years. There are no centers near me, so I have to rely on state licensed in home providers, so they close whenever they get sick/want a vacation too, and there's no repercussions because where else are we going to go? I certainly can't bring the baby to high school with me!
@nonlinear_function Seriously lol’d at the thought of bringing a baby to the high school. My 9th graders’ heads would explode. They can barely contain themselves when a bird is outside the window.
@v_flowers middle/high schoolers are just bigger 4 year olds with more hormones. I’m sorry for your and @nonlinear_function childcare issues. It is so frustrating. Even in a city where there are 4 childcare centers within a mile of my house the waitlists are insane. Not to mention the cost. It is looking more than likely that I will take a few years off of teaching and go back when my kids are in school.

How are you feeling?: this pregnancy has been so much different than my first. My nausea basically stopped at 14 weeks, no more migraines. Still tired but I thunk that's just more because I'm trying to work and take care of my toddler and home full time and it's a lot to keep up with. And I'm suddenly starving all the time which is a real problem since I really need to watch my weight
Rants/Raves: we've been trying to get my daughter into a better sleeping routine and thankfully 1 week in, she is doing so well and it makes my night so much less stressful when she is actually asleep by 9 instead of 11 lol

EDD/Weeks+Days: april 24th/15w1d
Baby is the size of: an eggo waffle or an orange 🍊
Team blue/pink/green: NIPT says girl 💖
Upcoming Appointments: 11/23 for my next prenatal followup
How are you feeling?: up and down. My nausea got worse for a couple weeks and finally started to ebb away. I finally started sleeping properly too so I am feeling better. Drained mentally but that's about it.
EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/9; 17w2d
Baby is the size of: Pomegranate
Team blue/pink/green: We found out via NIPT but are keeping it under wraps for now!
Upcoming Appointments: 11/22 for our anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: Sick, round, and itchy. Tired.
Rants/Raves: Just tired of ending up with every minor cold/illness that seems to go around. It feels like it takes forever for me to kick it, only to end up sick again a few weeks later. Maybe I'm just tired and grouchy, but....that's where I'm at this morning....
DD born 4/1/2023
Baby #3 EDD 11/21/2024
EDD/Weeks+Days: 4/11; 17 weeks
Baby is the size of: some random object
Team blue/pink/green: Pink 💕
EDD/Weeks+Days: 16 weeks, due April 19
Baby is the size of: a dill pickle
Team blue/pink/green: we know, we found out last week!
Upcoming Appointments: Nothing until my Anatomy scan on 11/21
How are you feeling?: Still pretty good! I'm trying to continue my workouts on my Peloton, but it's funny just how quickly you find you can't keep up the way you used to! I keep having to remind myself that is ok!
Rants/Raves:
rant: I get bad seasonal allergies and this year + being pregnant I feel like I have had the sniffles/congestion or a lingering cough for WEEKS. I am normally pretty healthy so this is absolutely driving me insane!
We’re definitely thinking about a part-time nanny until a slot opens up in our preferred daycare. We would just have to ask family to help fill in the gaps. I know that a lot could change between now and the time I will actually need childcare, but we definitely spiraled when we made those first phone calls. The US makes it very difficult to have two working parents in the home.
EDD/Weeks+Days: 17 weeks today, April 12th edd
Baby is the size of: pomegranate
Team blue/pink/green: it could go either way honestly
Upcoming Appointments: next check up on 11/16, anatomy scan 12/3 since the ultrasound tech is out starting that Wednesday before Thanksgiving
