EDD / Weeks + Days: 30 weeks on Wednesday!

Baby is the size of a(n): acorn

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: nothing until end of November, then I believe it’ll become every 2 week check ups!

How are you feeling?: Honestly currently terrified about adding another baby into the mix. My first born is just going through it. Not sleeping, tantrums, etc and I’m having a hard time managing especially on my own when my husband is working nights, he takes up so much of my time and energy I am at a loss how I’ll throw a very dependant newborn into the mix … ps my biggest regret is not sleep training my first born. When you are making these choices in the throes of it no one explained to me that by not sleep training I was signing up for 2-5 years of sleepless nights (when kids start to sleep better on their own naturally without intervention) and the sleep deprivation is weighing on me.

Rants/Raves: my husband is going deer hunting next Monday and planning on taking our toddler for a few days and nights to give me a break, I am equal parts excited and terrified. He is a really safe hunter and won’t actually be doing much hunting with the toddler obvs more just camping/ being in nature but I still can’t help but wonder how it’ll all work lol and I’m also very excited to have a few consecutive nights of sleep on my own but also know it’ll be weird not having anyone in the house lol

Questions: can you guys believe in the 2-3 months our babies will be earth-side!?

GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!?  Taking my toddler trick or treating with my parents as my husband works nights and I don’t want to do it alone 😬

  • @thankfullyamama my mil and sil have preached moms on call at every opportunity. Loathe as I am to take unsolicited advice, maybe sleep training is worth the effort? Hope your toddler gets a better schedule soon!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 28 weeks tomorrow //?1/24

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant

    Team blue/pink/green: blue

Upcoming Appointments: nov 7; we just started biweekly

How are you feeling?: pretty much the same. Having a hard time getting enough sleep with the bathroom breaks and aches and pains, but I know I’ll get less on a few months.

Rants/Raves: the nursery is finally ready for assembly! Husband has off later this week as usual so tackling the crib and dresser I think. I’m so excited to have it all come together

Questions: is a 32 week us normal? Dr said at last appt I should get one. I’m low risk, low-normal bp, passed my glucose test, healthy weight gain…is anyone else told to have one without a pressing worry? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take another look without complaint!

GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!? We’re still just the two adults here, but our drive in theater hosts a free family event every year, so we’ll be passing out candy, popcorn, and putting on a free movie for families tonight.
  • @cc_clark I have never heard of moms on call, is it like a telephone support service? Unfortunately my toddler is past the age of sleep training and we just have to ride it out until he can comprehend things a little more! That being said, this little baby will be sleep trained for sure at the 5/6 month mark because I cannot do this again!

Also, IDK when my next US is but I currently have nothing booked until 34 weeks even for appts, so likely not until 36/37 to ensure babe is head down --- but heck yes take it to see that little peanut!
  • It has been nuts in my life so sorry for being absent, I renegotiated my job (woot!) and we bought a house, plus my crazy schedule

@thankfullyamama  the 2 year old is going through some sort of regression and I am also nervous about adding a baby to the mix now. Hoping once we move next week it’s better.

EDD / Weeks + Days: 28 weeks! No idea on days

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

    Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow

How are you feeling?: swollen but overall pretty good, just so busy I can’t wait to slow down a bit

Rants/Raves: rave—I negotiated with my job to be able to not quit, plus got 8 weeks off paid and an additional 8 weeks half days

    Questions:

GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!?
We did trick or treat last night so I’m pretending tonight isn’t the 31st
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 28w & 06d

Baby is the size of a(n):eggplant

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

    Upcoming Appointments: next week

How are you feeling?: My back is killing me and I’m exhausted.  I’m also at that point where I have to get up constantly at night to pee.

Rants/Raves: I’m getting really sick of the bump app and all it’s glitches.  I’m also really sick of someone in the house basically always being sick.  My son has been bringing home just an endless parade of colds from preschool and it’s just awful.

Questions:  I’m looking for a recommendation for a cozy robe to wear at the hospital and also around the house after birth.  I feel like so many of the maternity robes I see are really short and really thin.  Since it’s going to be freezing cold here I’d like to find something that’s on the longer side (it doesn’t have to be floor length) and made from a thicker but still breathable  material.

GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!? My son is so excited about trick or treating and is constantly talking about all the things he wants to be for Halloween  but doesn’t want to actually wear any of the costumes we got him.  Fingers crossed we can actually get him in something to go out in!

  • @footdrbritt Congratulations on the new house and being able to negotiate more time off from work!

@cc_clark. I’m scheduled for a 32 week ultrasound as well.  My son was born really small so my doctor wants to check on the size of the baby and an ultrasound is more accurate then just weight tracking and belly measurements.  Can’t speak for your doctor but maybe they want to check on baby’s size?  I know other moms that have had ultrasounds around that time for those kinds of reasons too.
  • @beccaneu oh, that could be it. I did mention to her recently that babies on both sides of the family seem to run big (I was the smallest of both sides at 8.4). Hope you get a break from all the colds in your house!
  • @cc_clark will you be 35 by your EDD? That's why my doc has ordered a 32wk US. I believe it's fairly common if you have any risk factors at all, even if they're fairly mild. (Such as being old 😆).

@footdrbritt congrats on that successful negotiation!

@beccaneu I'm currently in bed nursing a daycare bug that DS brought home too 😭 solidarity. The only upside is that he's feeling better by now so at least I don't also have to deal with a grumpy toddler.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 1-14, 29+3

Baby is the size of a(n): squash? Ugh so bad at this

    Team blue/pink/green: Green

Upcoming Appointments: growth US in a couple weeks.

How are you feeling?: big. I feel like I am waddling at this point. Also, I have a pretty bad cold which is making me pretty darn miserable. But besides that, fine 🙃

    Rants/Raves: See above lol

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!?
We had a great time! DS and DD were lions. I chaperoned DD's kindergarten Halloween party which was fun but total craziness. My sister and I also dressed up to take them out (in addition to all the parties we had this weekend). It was exhausting, though, and I'm secretly relieved it's November.
  • @jennifer_louise ugh, being this far into it is uncomfortable enough—hope your cold goes away soon! And nope, I’ll still be 31 by edd, ftm, no complications that I know of. Maybe it is just for sizing.

    EDD /Weeks + Days: Jan 31st, 27 weeks +1
Baby is the size of a(n): bunch of bananas
    Team blue/pink/green: pink
    Upcoming Appointments: next week
How are you feeling?: pretty good!
Rants/Raves: small people the day after Halloween are rough!
    Questions: none today
GTKY: What is on the agenda for Halloween for your family!? Trick or treating last night! (By last night I mean Monday haha, I wrote this yesterday but apparently hadn't posted)
  • @cc_clark was baby measuring in a higher percentile at your last ultrasound? If they're in the low or high range a 32week ultrasound is normal to determine if extra monitoring is needed in the last two months. (been there, done that!)
  • Welp @cc_clark I'm out of ideas then 😅. I have had 32 wk US with all my pregnancies now, for three different reasons. Gestational hypertension, then placenta previa, and now because I just turned 35. Oh well, hopefully you can just enjoy the extra peek at baby boy!
  • I can't remember the last time I posted (or if I ever have) but have been reading since I found out I was pregnant back in May. I'd love to be part of the FB group so I'm forcing myself out of my shell and will be an active poster. 😊

    EDD / Weeks + Days:  January 21 / 28w4d

Baby is the size of a(n): As tall as a tall can of pringles

Team blue/pink/green: Blue for the second time!

Upcoming Appointments:  Next doctor's appointment is Nov 16.

How are you feeling?:  Rough. No specific thing is wrong, I just feel rough. I'm a little older this time around (my first is 10) and I'm feeling pain and discomfort way earlier this time.

Rants/Raves:  Something that is a rant and a rave is how much this baby is moving. I do love to feel him and know he's there but it's starting to get very uncomfortable. 😣

    Questions: None right now.

GTKY: My husband and son went T-or-Ting with some friends on Halloween but I stayed home because it would be too much walking for me. But that meant I was able to have fun Halloween themed pizza ready for them when they got home!
