I've been bad at checking in lately so I'm getting in early this week!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 26+2, Jan 14
Baby is the size of a(n): Kale
Team blue/pink/green: still Green!.
Upcoming Appointments: in 2 weeks for glucose testing and 28wk check-in
How are you feeling?: Ugh, generally fine but starting to feel my extra girth. I'm constantly forgetting my bigger size and trying to squeeze through tight places 🙃. Overall I'm starting to feel those (almost) 3rd tri symptoms.
Rants/Raves: we've had a couple of super busy weeks and it feels like this fall is flying by 😭. We've had a lot of fun but I also feel like it's been a bit overwhelming. Thankfully this coming weekend we don't have many plans so hopefully we can just chill out a bit.
Questions: Has anybody gotten their updated/bivalent covid booster?
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? Oh wow. Breakfast is by far my favorite meal and I could talk about it all day.
If I was going out to eat, it's hard for me to pass up Eggs Benedict. Now obviously I don't get that very often so my second favorite is a classic Everything bagel with plain cream cheese. But really, I love it all: omelets, hashbrowns, waffles, pancakes, biscuits, coffee, donuts, muffins (need I go on....lol). At home, it's usually much more boring- toast, a bagel, or eggs if I have extra time.
@jennifer_louise I got mine the same day as my flu shot a couple weeks ago. Lil uncomfy the day after, but that could’ve been the double whammy
@willrunforcookies sorry to hear that! Hope you get some rest and get better soon.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 25w
Baby is the size of a(n): cauliflower
Team blue/pink/green: Blue
Upcoming Appointments: next Thursday
How are you feeling?: Ok. Definitely feeling heavy and more winded each week
Rants/Raves: Finally getting the nursery painted this week! Very excited to have that done so we can really get going in setting up the furniture that’s arrived soon far.
Questions: none just now
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? Oh I LOVE breakfast, favorite meal at all times of day. Lately I’ve had such a craving for sausage gravy, maybe the Appalachian in me. At home I usually stick with fruit in the morning with either Greek yogurt or eggs.
Rants/Raves: The heaviness of my stomach is getting overwhelming and I have 3 months more to go 😂.
Questions: Mums with anterior placentas, how is the kicking going? I can feel baby movement more now but it’s usually when I’m laying on my side. Also when does kick counting really start. ( first time mum here 😌😌)
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? I love breakfast. In my country we have some kind of porridge made of corn dough and eaten with puff puff. That’s my absolute favorite
Upcoming Appointments: I have an OB appt next week and I think my MFM appt next week too (I can't remember the date, so have to call and figure out when it is)
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I have weeks I am more tired and weeks I am okay.
Rants/Raves: My husband had to go out of town for three days last week and has to go out of town for another week soon and I'm over it. I hate when he travels and he went from not travelling at all in previous jobs to like travelling a TON two jobs ago. It all slowed down some when he changed jobs and then because of COVID. He swears this won't be a heavy travel job but it always makes me nervous.
Questions: I don't think I have any right now.
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? This question is too hard because breakfast food is my FAVORITE. It has to be either pancakes or waffles though.
Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test this morning 🤢
How are you feeling?: the pregnancy hormones have hit and I’m very emotional and will cry at a commercial at this point (VERY unlike me) so not loving that haha
Rants/Raves: the inguinal hernia I have is quite bad and I’m now getting vulvar varicose veins because of it which are massively painful by the end of the day I feel like my choochie is going to split in two! Trying to decide if I’ll get my hernia repaired locally around 4/5 months post partum or go away to a hernia repair clinic when this babe is 1.5-2 years old (I’d have to be gone from my babies for 4-? Days) both options suck to have to do but I need it done because I’m on an activity restriction until it’s repaired and healed!
Questions: Anyone else hoping their babe comes December 😂
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? Omg im also obsessed with breakfast and usually my go to right now is a BLT with some sort of spicy mayo haha
@cc_clark thanks! The one pro tho being sick is that I have a good reason not to be in the office at all this week!
@ knottie, anterior placenta here, but definitely still feeling the movements and they'll only get stronger. 28 weeks is the general time point for starting kick counts.
@thankfullyamama the opposite! I'm hoping for a Feb baby so that everything is ready.
Baby is the size of a(n): ‘standard brick’ per the app today which made me laugh a bit
Team blue/pink/green: pink!
Upcoming Appointments: today, 3 weeks from now and then 2 weeks after that
How are you feeling?: more energy for sure, and cautiously BP has stayed good so I’m happy with that
Rants/Raves: none this week so far!
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? I love a good eggs Benedict, but also I just love breakfast food in general. Brinner (breakfast for dinner) is real in our house
Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant (glad to be out of the leafy vegetable stage)
Team blue/pink/green: pink
Upcoming Appointments: midwife 10/20, I’ve officially started two appointments a month!
How are you feeling?: Feeling very good as I enter the third trimester this week.
Rants/Raves: Rant is that the round ligament pain has gotten worse in that it started happening during inopportune times, like while driving and during a patient session. Rave is that I met with a prenatal chiropractor yesterday and I am very excited to get started. She made me feel so empowered!
Questions: None this week.
GTKY: What is your favorite breakfast food? Also my favorite meal of the day and a hard question to answer but ricotta pancakes always come to mind when I think of favorite breakfast. I typically get savory dishes when I’m out though. Love a Benedict or a Mexican-style egg dish, and sometimes I just need to have biscuits and gravy!
@willrunforcookies 😅 as long as I’m dilated and effaced enough come the last week of December I am 100% taking our “witches brew” aka the midwife’s castor oil drink that totally put me into labour with my first! I’m not sure if it would be more fun to have a New Year’s Eve birthday or New Year’s Day but I think I’ll drink it New Year’s Eve and see what happens if she doesn’t come before then haha
