How are you feeling?: Really good. Psyched to be in the second trimester.
Rants/Raves: I think I’m getting the cold that’s been going around my class. But at least I have fall break next week to relax if I am sick.
GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume? I was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz one year and I got to trick or treat around my neighborhood with our little dog.

Baby is the size of: A peach!
Team blue/pink/green: We found out via NIPT results last week, but are keeping it to ourselves so far!
Upcoming Appointments: 10/25....our first GD screening :grimace:
How are you feeling?: Kinda round  Grateful my nausea has eased up and energy is coming back....
Rants/Raves: Really hoping we can make it out of town for a short 2/3 day backpacking trip this weekend for fall foliage. We've been planning for his parents to watch the kiddos and dogs this weekend for us, and they've been under the weather last week, so time will tell. But this will likely be our last chance to be in the backcountry for awhile......so keep your toes crossed for us!
GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume? Yes, my sister and I pretty much always dressed up for halloween, at least as kids. I was never much on traditional princess kind of costumes, but had this one pioneer woman kind of dress with a big hoop in the bottom of the skirt that I seem to recall being pretty obsessed with

Team blue/pink/green: Wish I knew! NIPT results still aren’t in, despite them saying 5-7 calendar days. We’re on day 10 now.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday next week (my birthday lol)
How are you feeling?: still a little queasy most of the time, but I haven’t puked in a long time. Energy levels are getting back to normal, so I’m feeling pretty good.
Rants/Raves: I’ve started slowly organizing what will be the nursery, it’s currently my home office/guest room/storage room for random crap. It’ll be a long time until it’s ready but it feels good to have started! Even though baby won’t even sleep in there until they’re 6-ish months old.
GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume? Nope. It’s not a thing in Norway. Or rather, it wasn’t a thing when I was growing up, it is now since Europe is getting increasingly Americanized. I guess I’ll have to make an effort with my kids, but I’m a Halloween grinch. I don’t have a costume for my son yet.

Upcoming Appointments: 4 week appointment on 10/18

How are you feeling?: A little better. My energy is starting to look up, and I'm not feeling nauseous all day every day any more. It still shows up here and there, but I'm grateful for the relief.

Rants/Raves: we're really excited about having a girl!

GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume? I did dress up. My favorite was probably the 50s throwback. My mom made me a poodle skirt and I loved twirling in that thing.

Rants/Raves: I’m taking a personal day tomorrow to finally get my hair cut and colored for fall. I’ve also booked an ultrasound to see the little babe!

GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume? I loved dressing up! I still dress up to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters (My neighborhood is right downtown and is swamped with kids on Halloween). My favorite costume was a fortune teller. I carried around a magic 8 ball all night.

    EDD/Weeks+Days:  14+6, due 4/4
Baby is the size of:  a donut!

    Team blue/pink/green:  team green

Upcoming Appointments: 10/27 with my old OB.  I think I have made up my mind that I'll be going back to my old OB instead of the new one.  Being offered an elective c- section for no reason really rubbed me the wrong way, even though everything else was great about it.

How are you feeling?:  pretty good minus still sore at my incisions and internally in a few spots.  Slightly worried about my main incision.  It's red, swollen, and seems pussy.  Pretty gross.  Also super sore to the touch.  Not really anything pregnancy related though.

Rants/Raves:  Hubby is having some abdominal pain, and automatically goes to worst case scenario, acting like its an emergency and he is dying.  I am trying to be supportive and understanding, but I really think it's just a pulled muscle or something and he is way overreacting.  He had an ultrasound today that revealed no masses or anything else worrisome, and he is insisting it is something else and that they run more tests.  He said he was going to go to the ER 🤦‍♀️.  Mind you, when i was writhing in pain from my gallbladder attack, he was very reluctant to take me to the ER until my sister forced him to!  I swear if he had to go through labor (or gallstones for that matter!), he would just lay down on the spot and drop dead.  Such a baby.  Of course I'll feel absolutely horrible if they do find something wrong, but I don't think they will.

GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume?  Yes!  The whole family dressed up and went all out.  My dad was the OG when it came to tombstone decorations!  He made his own, before they were sold in stores for Halloween.  We would decorate together and it was awesome.   My mom would make a lot of our costumes, too!  My favorite was a Native American costume she made, it was awesome!  She even made a smaller version for my doll to wear!
  • @acleverusername your homemade costumes sound awesome!!!
  • @acleverusername it’s not with my doctor yet. Invitae has a tracker, it’s still in the “lab processing” stage. Then it’ll get to “analysis and interpretation”, before finally being released to my doctor.

Literally everyone else I know who have done Invitae NIPT had the result within a week. Mine’s been stuck at the same stage for ten days now. I think I’ll call Invitae directly tomorrow.

  • @acleverusername she was a miniature schnauzer-poodle mix. She was very wizard of oz like and just a good dog in general.

@scaredunprepared your husband sounds a lot like mine. He goes to the doctor anytime he has a cold but when I had a bladder infection he was like “Maybe just wait and see”

@etnyah I hope you get answers soon. That’s so frustrating.
  • @acleverusername sure did, but didn’t inherit the patience or energy so she does most of my crafting for me
  • @iiirene omg isn't it soooo irritating?!?!?!  Drives me bonkers.  Like apparently they think WE are being dramatic even though we are experiencing legit health "emergencies", but yeah, clearly your man cold and psychosomatic tummy troubles are what need medical attention....🙄

@yelaklu13 I am laughing at you not inheriting your mom's patience or energy....girl, same!

GTKY: Did you dress up for Halloween growing up? What was you favorite costume?
Sometimes, my Dad was not a fannof us participating in Halloween but my Mom always wanted to so some years we did some we didn't. I had a lot of dress up clothes anyways so I almost always was Dorothy from the wizard of oz or a princess lol
