Daycare for new baby

I have a 8 and 10 year old. Both were at home with me until preschool at age three. When they went to elementary, I went back to work FT and worked my way up to a management position that I love. My husband and I have recently talked about adding to our family. I have the option to stay home but I did not do well as a SAHM and was often lonely and felt the drive to work. We are contemplating having the next baby go to child care after my 3 month maternity leave. I am worried that I will not get to bond with the new baby as much as I did with the first two. Does anyone have experience with one child who you were home with and the other that went to child care? Any advice is appreciated! TIA

Re: Daycare for new baby

  • Hi I totally understands how you feel. my two kids was at the daycare at a very tender age (3 months of age). and i was frustrated by the not having to spend more time with them and that made me to open my own daycare so i can be at home with them. opening a daycare helped me to make other parents that was in the same situation more comfortable to bring there kids to me. you can take your time and tour the daycares in your neighborhood and choose the right one. and put ur trust in God.
  • I go into the office twice a week and work from home the other 3. We do a nanny share with friends, so on days when I'm in office baby goes to their house, and when I'm at home their son comes here. I don't know if you can afford to have in-home childcare as well as get partial or full time telework, but it's worked out great for us so far. Best wishes.
