Baby #2 and conflicting emotions!

Our daughter is 21 months old (2 in December) and we just got a positive pregnancy test this morning for our second! We knew we wanted a second and by chance this was our first month “trying” after coming off of birth control. I really didn’t expect it to happen so quickly!

Even though we want this baby more than anything and to expand our family, why was my excitement so quickly washed over with fear and trepidation? Are we ready for this? Did we rush through these early years with our first and are we losing out on that precious time?

I feel so guilty for having these feelings, for questioning whether this is right. Is this normal?

Girl I totally understand. I’m in Nursing school and I have a 5 year old son from a previous relationship. My Husband wants a baby but I’ve always wanted to finish school first. Of course I never thought it was going to happen so son but when I find out I was pregnant I wasn’t excited. I thought of everything wrong. I felt bad but I wasn’t ready for this. It’s been two weeks since I had a positive test and I’ve accepted it but I do think of how this is such horrible timing. You’re not alone. It’ll get better as time goes on for the both of us. It’s just the initial shock and loss of control that got me.

I'm I'm the same boat! I feel guilty for not being excited about this. We tried for it and want it but I'm more scared and nervous with this one than my first. I was hoping the US would make more excited but it didn't 😭
