FTM/STM/TTM+: STM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 5 / 7W3D Baby is the size of a: piece of uncooked macaroni Team blue/pink/green: finding out Upcoming Appointments: first appt 9/29 How are you feeling?: yesterday was rough in terms of nausea and fatigue, but I'm managing. Sweet things taste way too sweet now. Rants/Raves: DD is starting to understand what's going on: DH's aunt came over and the first thing she said was, "I'm going to be a big sister!" Questions: none right now GTKY: What was your first job? Clothing buyer at Plato's Closet in 2005 I wish I had taken more pictures of my outfits!
How are you feeling?: Some days I feel nauseated and have lower exercise tolerance. Some days I feel completely nonpregnant. I think it’s related to how much sleep I get. Trying not to get too much in my own head about it.
Rants/Raves: The weather cooled off, hooray! I’m usually a bigger fan of hot weather than cold, but I’m ready for more temperate temps than what we’ve been having.
Questions: none
GTKY: What was your first job? Secretary at an occupational health clinic. It was a job I had in high school over the summer. The office had a beta fish. I had unlimited access to Lifesavers mints and I would eat about 10-20 of them a day. I sent a lot of faxes. One of the nurses told me I should go see the new movie out, “Legally Blonde,” because I might like it, and it became one of my favorite movies.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/15 6w2d Baby is the size of a: dried corn kernel Team blue/pink/green: finding out Upcoming Appointments: 10/14 for US, appt and probably NIPT blood work How are you feeling?: Tired. I also feel like I am getting heartburn sporadically which seems so early! Rants/Raves: After an incredibly busy summer, we had our first completely free weekend since before the 4th and it was amazing. DS1 is still having a hard time sleeping through the night though so while it was a restful weekend night sleep wasn't the best. Questions:STM+ you know after the certain point where you can't sleep on your back and you sort of feel that heaviness of your uterus/baby if on your back? I feel like I am already feeling that when sleeping on my back, it is the weirdest feeling without having a pregnant belly, this also seems so early! GTKY: What was your first job? Small mom & pop grocery store, I worked there for 5 years through high school and college!
How are you feeling?: Constant stomach pains, tired, and starting with nausea - all pretty much on track for me
Rants/Raves: I am exhausted by 1:00 pm every day (weekend naps, for sure!), but I don't sleep well at night. Dreaming of a nap as I type this. 😴
Questions: When will you tell your kid(s) about the baby? Being PGAL makes me gun-shy to tell her, but I would of course like her to be one of the first people that knows. My DD is 5 if that factors into your thinking.
GTKY: What was your first job? I worked in the marketing department of Sears, which basically meant I set up the displays and helped with all the signage. It was a weird but fun first job.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 31st 3+5 Baby is the size of a: speck of sawdust 😂 Team blue/pink/green: Team find out eventually Upcoming Appointments: 10/20 How are you feeling?: No real physical symptoms yet other than a few twinges here and there. I’m feeling incredibly grateful.
Rants/Raves: I hate the term geriatric pregnancy 👎👎 Questions: GTKY: What was your first job?
Other than baby sitting work study jobs in college. My mom was big on me not getting a job so I could focus on school. I was a music department assistant (photo copied practice music, set the stage up for practices and performances etc) and a chemistry lab assistant (cleaned and set up labs every week).
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, which still feels so weird to say EDD / Weeks + Days: May 6, 7+2 Baby is the size of a: blueberry Team blue/pink/green: team find out asap Upcoming Appointments: bloodwork and medical history, next week finally! I feel like we’ve been waiting forever How are you feeling?: not terrible. So so tired by the afternoon but no time to nap. I’ve found that when I eat food first thing, I’m more nauseous throughout the day than when I drink a shake for breakfast. Now if Walmart could just keep them in stock, that’d be great! Rants/Raves: not really either, but my son is home “sick” today. He had a 99.4 temp when my husband woke him up for school, and now he’s jumping around here, acting like a crazy man and cool as a cucumber. Way to waste a day! Questions: how long can I sleep on my stomach? I’m gonna be so uncomfortable when I can’t anymore. GTKY: What was your first job? Other than babysitting, working the kids stand at the local minor league baseball stadium. Everything, including the super sticky red punch, was $1. Good times. I liked when we got asked to work for concerts and stuff, because everything was open air, so not only could we hear the music for free, we got paid for it.
@abjm0325 it is killing me not to tell my 5 year old son, but I know when we do, everyone will know. So we are waiting until we’re ready to announce to everyone, likely right around Halloween. Idk how I want to tell him yet though- something fun, since this will be the only time we get to do it.
@gingermama46 and @ashleyp625 I was a solid stomach sleeper before my first pregnancy, and it took a while before I had to roll over on my side (over 20 weeks), and even then I was kind of tripod-ing with my belly 😂. I never stopped being a side sleeper after pregnancy—my boobs hurt too much to sleep on my stomach for a while postpartum, and I felt like my back changed permanently, so I’m already on my side this time.
@ceclarlinetlo Yes the term geriatric pregnancy sucks. 😂
@abjm0325 My 3 year old will also tell the world, so waiting to tell her when I don’t mind everyone else in the world knowing. 😂 However, we moved recently and “her” stuff got split as toddler stuff in her actual room and baby stuff in the bonus room/future baby room, so she is fully convinced she has two full rooms and it’s going to be interesting trying to put a baby in “her” second room. So we’re probably gonna try to prepare her for that for a while before it happens. 🤣
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM EDD / Weeks + Days: May 21, 5 weeks Baby is the size of a: appleseed Team blue/pink/green: haven't decided yet Upcoming Appointments: Oct 18 How are you feeling?: Still don't believe it's real lol. My breasts are super sore in the morning and I have to pee all the time. Also I can't tell if I'm more hungry than usual but I feel like I'm hungry every two hours. Rants/Raves: Not telling anyone and trying to live your normal life is hard! I went to girls night this past weekend and my girlfriend was convinced I was pregnant when I stuck with water. I don't blame her but like, don't out me before I tell you okay?! Questions: Is it normal to be hungry every two hours this early in the pregnancy? Also, is it normal to keep wanting to take pregnancy tests to confirm it's true? I'm sure more symptoms will come but I'm weirdly paranoid it's not true. GTKY: What was your first job? Nanny! Plenty of years to get me ready for this but I'm still so nervous! 🤦♀️
@abjm0325 I haven’t decided when to tell our kids. Being PGAL (I had 2 losses in 2015) I usually announce to my closer friends on the earlier side of things which I know is not typical. But to me, having one happy memory of someone’s excitement at hearing I am pregnant is more than I would have if I keep it to myself and it not go well. Idk if that makes sense to anyone else though.
Both of my miscarriages were missed/discovered at ultrasounds so I’ll probably wait to tell our kids (and other family) until we see how things look next month.
Team blue/pink/green: probably will find out... I'm a planner, so probably won't be able to wait it out.
Upcoming Appointments: GP later this week and then 1st US Sept 29th. Can't wait for the ultrasound as I don't really trust my pregnancy till I hear a heartbeat due to previous losses and a MMC. Trying to get referred to an obgyn, so I can get NIPT testing done, but she won't see me till the ultrasound is completed. At least I got one a little bit earlier than they were originally willing to book me for.
How are you feeling?: Tired overall and more nauseous than my last pregnancy with DD... If I get hungry and don't eat right away I get really nauseous... Boo.
Rants/Raves: Just got back from a great vacation to San Francisco with hubby and DD! Love travelling, but there's nothing like coming back home and sleeping in your own bed
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What was your first job? Blueberry picking at my parents farm, but first official one was the very stereotypical high school McDonald's job.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM EDD / Weeks + Days: 5/20, 5w3d Baby is the size of a: peppercorn? Team blue/pink/green: finding out via nipt in 5-6 weeks Upcoming Appointments: Oct 7 for u/s and intake How are you feeling?: More tired these days Rants/Raves: I miss having a beer or a glass of wine after a long day. And DH is away this week, so a lot of long days... Questions: none GTKY: What was your first job? I worked at the after school care in my school when I was in 8th grade.
We will tell our kids after we get the NIPT results back, I think, so we can tell them the sex too. DH, my mom, my stepdad, and a handful of my friends know already.
DD #1: April 2017 DD #2: May 2020 Baby #3: EDD May 2023; MC October 2022
FTM/STM/TTM+: fourth time mom ( but only third pregnancy d/t prior set of twins) EDD / Weeks + Days: May 21/ 5 weeks 2 days Baby is the size of a: appleseed Team blue/pink/green: TBD but we will find out as soon as we can Upcoming Appointments: My first appt is not until oct 25th How are you feeling?: The shock of the pregnancy is wearing off and I think I am starting to believe its real. We are happy and this pregnancy is wanted but it was a big mental adjustment for sure. I am nauseous and so very tired mid-afternoon. I also feel grateful that we get to do this again. GTKY: What was your first job? Ice cream scooper and sometimes I still yearn for the free access to the froyo machine but that would definitely be dangerous whilst pregnant.
Baby is the size of a pot pie veggie (pea or corn kernel)
Team blue/pink/green: I'm not sure what this means, honestly. Is it asking what am I hoping for? Whether I will find out vs be surprised? Or whether I know what it is already? (Obvi too early for any of us to know the latter.)
First US appointment scheduled for Oct 10, which is Monday of my 9th week.
How am I feeling? Depends on which day. Migraines over the past 2 weekends have been awful and debilitating. Hard to know if I'm nauseous apart from these headaches. Today I'm feeling much better.
Rants/Raves: Husband can't come to the first US appointment because he has to work. (Not his fault.) It's lame particularly because it's my first baby but his second. ☹️
Questions: Tell me if you changed your skincare routine after you found out you were pregnant!
GTKY: What was your first job? I worked as a kennel assistant at at veterinary hospital/urgent care pet clinic. I can still name some of the "regular" patients, including a be-sweatered Devon Rex named Carmel Delight and a blood donor dog named Canelo.
@radioactivet I didn't change it much other than double checking all my products were pregnancy safe. I used this website last pregnancy and it is an easy reference to check out most products as I get kinda lost in the ingredient list on my own.
