How are you feeling?: tired but finally getting some energy back!
Rants/Raves: My DD definitely does not understand that she can't be jumping on mommy's belly anymore. I have had a hard time getting her to be alittle more gentle with the baby.
Questions: How are y'all staying hydrated? I'm having the hardest time drinking water, it makes me nauseous!
GTKY: What is your favorite children's book? The very hungry caterpillar! My husband says that the book reminds him of my pregnancy cravings!🤣

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Jan 31st/20w 6d
Baby is the size of a(n): box of dryer sheets?
    Team blue/pink/green: pink
    Upcoming Appointments: ob tomorrow
How are you feeling?: Fairly normal
Rants/Raves: We need to start room prepping and have not made much progress.
    Questions: none right now
GTKY: What is your favorite children's book? "We Don't Eat Our Classmates" is my current favorite
  • @jessicadmillard my DS is all over my bump too. It didn't worry me so much when the baby was tiny and tucked away in my pelvis, but now I'm more concerned. Usually if he can't be gentle, I just make DH take over as the human jungle gym.

@willrunforcookies We Don't Eat our Classmates is so cute!!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 1-14, 23+2

Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

    Team blue/pink/green: Green 💚

Upcoming Appointments: Telehealth appt next week.

How are you feeling?: Pregnancy wise, I'm feeling fine!

Rants/Raves: We had a pretty good weekend. Had swimming lessons, went car shopping (didn't buy anything yet), and then gave both kiddos haircuts 😆. They look so grown up now! This weekend I'm going away with some girlfriends and I'm legit starting to get concerned about leaving them. It seemed like such a good idea at the time, but now I'm having a hard time getting excited about it.

Questions: Anybody just have doing telehealth appts? This is my first one and it's nice to save a little time, but also feels weird not to be "seen" lol

GTKY: What is your favorite children's book?
I'm not sure about favorite, but recently we got this adorable one from the library called "Sheepish" where a wolf disguises himself to infiltrate some sheep and eat some. But he had so much fun with the sheep that in the end he decides to become a vegetarian. 🤣
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/01/2023 (23 weeks)
Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit!
    Team blue/pink/green: PINK
Upcoming Appointments: Another anatomy tomorrow hopefully they get what they need this will be my 3rd lol
How are you feeling?: definitely better than the first 22 weeks but the swelling/ inguinal hernia I have are now taking it’s toll. 15 more weeks ish I keep telling myself lol
Rants/Raves: I bought everything I wanted and needed for this little girls room on my weekend away trip and I feel so good about it being done because I definitely like to have things ready well in advance!
Questions: anyone doing anything in particular to prep their toddler for baby?
GTKY: What is your favorite children's book? Omg anything by Leslie Patricelli! My toddler is obsessed with the potty book, night night book and dada book by her! They are really great to adapt to any family and good to use as a teaching tool! We started reading then when he was a newborn and now we have a big collection lol
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 1/24 // 22w

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut

    Team blue/pink/green: Blue

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday morning check in

How are you feeling?: Tired mostly. Starting back to in person work at this point has been a bit taxing. But managing!

Rants/Raves: Rave-baby boy’s movements are more and more noticeable and frequent. I work for a symphony orchestra, and it’s been fun to see which types of music he responds to most (big brass and percussion!)

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is your favorite children's book? Oh gosh, this is our first so I have to reach way back to even remember what kids books I liked most. I always had a book with me growing up, but the youngest I can remember were the Little House on the Prairie books in 3rd/4th grade. We’ll have to do some serious kid’s book shopping once boy is here!

@jessicadmillard I drink a fair amount of tea personally. I buy loose leaf from a local tea house, and especially if it’s caffeine free, it’s not too far removed from water anyway.

@willrunforcookies I’ve had a paint sample picked on the wall for weeks and done nothing else with it 😂 it’s hard to find the time, even knowing how much more limited time will get.
  • @cc_clark what color?? I don't want to paint and am hoping my 3yo just accepts a darker teal room because I don't want a toddler to be involved in color choices 😂.
  • @willrunforcookies the room for the nursery already has wainscoting, so we’re going to do a light sort of sage green on the bottom and off white on the tops. We’re doing a Shire theme for little boy, hoping it’s something he can grow with for a while!
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 22 + I have no idea at this point (truly third child problems) and tentative induction still 1/1 although we may get to push if I pass my GD screen and my Bp stays good

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut

    Team blue/pink/green: pink

Upcoming Appointments: not for a few weeks, 2nd anatomy scan looks great and my BP was low for me with my current medication so I don’t go back until late October! This has been the weirdest pregnancy for me because I’m used to multiple appointments and closer follow up, but also this time isn’t the shit show of the last 2 so I’m going with it!

How are you feeling?: well I quit my job/sent my non renewal of contract. So I’m feeling great, have energy and overall starting to nest

Rants/Raves: work as noted above. Without getting too into the weeds, I’ve never, in my career felt so ethically uneasy as I did last week, which was the straw that broke the camels back. We’re in a great spot financially for me to take some time off anyways after this baby is born so we are going to figure it out.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is your favorite children's book?
currently my kids (and I) are obsessed with we don’t eat our classmates (@willrunforcookies) but also they’re just book worms like me and will ready literally anything I give them/want it read
as I kid I loved Stellaluna
  • @jessicadmillard DS also uses me as a climbing structure and loves to jump on me. We’ve been working on being more gentle but he’s enthusiastic.

@willrunforcookies We have that book and I read it to DS a lot when he was biting all his classmates. It’s a good one although it didn’t stop him from biting. I don’t think we are painting little girl’s room. It’s a light green (I think it’s called celery) and I figure I’ll just add some pastel purple or pink accents. Currently it has a dinosaur rug because it’s a play room so I may switch that.

@thankfullyamama We have some books about being a brother for DS (3 yo). We also talk about and answer his questions about the baby. He takes a while to process things so it’s funny he’ll bring her up/ask questions randomly. At one point he told me he didn’t want her to share his bed and I explained she will have her own bed, room and loveys. I know the hardest thing for him will be sharing my attention. He also puts loveys into his shirt and tells me he has a baby in his belly.

@jennifer_louise I haven’t had any telehealth appts. How do they do things like check your urine remotely?

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 1/22/23 22w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): Papaya

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: 10/3 fetal echo

How are you feeling?: Good but my pregnancy insomnia is out of hand.

Rants/Raves: Making some progress on baby prep, I bought a crib last week that will be delivered next week and a tall dresser which will go in DS’s room and we’ll put his low (great for changing) dresser in baby’s room.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite children's book? That’s so tough, but I do love reading Giraffe’s Can’t Dance out loud because it’s got fun rhyming.
  • @zamoraspin Giraffes Can't Dance is great!  I've read it so much that I've memorized it and I ended up buying others by them.
