  • FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
    EDD / Weeks + Days: 4/5, 10w5d
Baby is the size of a: who knows.
    Team blue/pink/green: finding out.
Upcoming Appointments: next regular checkup isn’t until October 19th, MFM is supposed to call me today to set up a consult and hopefully NIPT.
How are you feeling?: bleh. Better than the past couple days. I think the wildfire smoke made my symptoms worse, I puked all weekend long. The smoke is almost gone and I’m feeling a lot better today, but still not 100%.
Rants/Raves: I wish MFM would just call me already! I called last week and was told I can’t schedule an appt until their genetic specialist has looked over my referral. They told me they’d call back by the end of the day last Friday, or today. Obviously they didn’t call last Friday so.
    Questions: not right now.
GTKY: What is your favorite childhood memory? Many! I don’t have a memory that specifically stands out, but I had a good childhood. It probably involves me doing something stupid with my brother (we were never up to any good).

@etnyah I have a colleague in Monroe, WA and she's been telling me all about the forest fires that are breaking out near her house and the headache / puking because of that. So, I think your puking is probably due to that for sure.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: April 1! 11w3d?

Baby is the size of a: I refuse

    Team blue/pink/green: Pseudo-green!

Upcoming Appointments: weekly ultrasound & blood test tomorrow (9/14); weekly RI appointment on Friday (9/16); NT scan on Monday 9/19! 😱

How are you feeling?: I feel pretty good most days. I'm actually doing a fun experiment. I got myself a Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) device, and started using it on Sunday (a friend is doing it for fitness/nutrition reasons so she twisted my rubber arm). Well, I've learned that I'm still having nausea (but it's WAY better than <10 weeks, and the way I can tell is when I'm feeling "icky" but my blood sugar level is in range. It's REALLY awesome. It's expensive, but I've basically been a walking science experiment for the entire infertility journey so why not more data?

Rants/Raves: I usually work remotely (something I transitioned to in Jan 2022), but part of my agreement with work is to come onsite every 6-8 weeks, so this is my "on-site" week. I love seeing my colleagues and meeting all the new ones we've hired whom I've only seen on Zoom calls. But at the same time, I get SO exhausted at the end of the day. Traveling for work is really like working 1.5 jobs since you spend so much of the day catching up, you still have to get some work done at the end of the day at the hotel.

Oh, and since we have the NIPT results, I've started telling my friends IRL about the pregnancy and I've been video'ing their responses and it's been GREAT!

    Questions: Nah.

GTKY: What is your favorite childhood memory? OOPH! Such a deep question. There was one year when my maternal grandparents, took me to my paternal grandparents for Christmas holidays (they lived in the country), and we all had so much fun building snowmen, sledding, celebrating. I specifically have this one memory of both of my granddads taking us to a frozen lake in a forest, shoveling away snow and letting us ice skate.

  • @acleverusername Monroe had it pretty bad! They’re slightly closer to the closest fire than I am, I know one of the affected towns were evacuating livestock and horses to the fairgrounds in Monroe so they felt the effects that way too.

But yeah, I have a feeling my extreme nausea was a result of the fires. I’ve only been regular nauseous for the past couple days and the smoke isn’t nearly as bad as it was over the weekend.
