Gender Reveal

Hello! This is a bit of an odd question, but I’d love to know if I am alone in this feeling or not. My husband and I did a big gender reveal party yesterday (spoiler alert, it’s a boy!!). I’m so happy to finally know for sure, and I can’t wait to meet my little boy. However, I felt sooo strongly that it was a girl. I could picture what life would be like with her. I had a name picked out and everything. (Clearly my crystal ball was foggy). It almost feels like that little girl I have been picturing got taken away. Again, I’m ecstatic to be having a boy, and I can’t wait to picture my life with him! I just feel so weird today and wonder if anyone else has ever felt this way?

Of course you’re not alone! This is normal. You are perfect. This is not what you expected, and THAT’S what you’re working through/mourning, and it has nothing to do with your love or excitement for your son. Both can be true (mourning and excited) and eventually the intensity of what you’re feeling today will fade to the background. Congrats!
