    Upcoming Appointments: I need to call this week to book the anatomy scan, then a midwife appointment after that.

    How are you feeling?: I think my energy is slowly starting to climb back up. With my last pregnancy I was pretty sick until 16 weeks, so if I'm out of it at 15w I count that as a win!

    Rants/Raves: Rant: Today the ejector pump for our septic system started shorting, so we can't use any of the water-consuming things downstairs (like my laundry machine!!). Coincidentally, my 2yo has had 3 potty accidents today and our 4yo had diarrhea in her undies so it's been a laundry heavy day. Currently sitting at my parents' place to do laundry :) Rave: it's my youngest's first birthday on Thursday! I can't believe it's been a year since he made his appearance already.

    Questions: How many (if any) BMB's have you been involved in before? I only found these groups on baby #3, so this is my second BMB! 

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? I would get a cat if I could. We have a dog and I love her but she is very high maintenance (high anxiety) and the thought of having a cat just sounds so nice. BUT my husband is super allergic so that can't happen.

    Upcoming Appointments: Week from today for NT scan and bloodwork

    How are you feeling?: Nausea comes and goes, I’ve been using unisom even though I’m a zombie. It helps a little. Still really fatigued and some round ligament pain from time to time. 

    Rants/Raves: After a year of asking, H finally reversed the door on my drier so I can easily switch my laundry!

    Questions: None that I can think of. 

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? No animals 🤣 I can’t honestly be responsible for another living creature in this life.

    @muggsd this is my third time. I found it with my first pregnancy.

    How are you feeling?: Tired, slightly nauseas on and off, head aches have been getting better. 

    Rants/Raves: Rave: had a nice relaxing weekend yay! Rant: D2 has been super grumpy the entire weekend accept for when my sister and her son we visiting.

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? No idea. Maybe a cat if they peed and pooped in the toilet and didn't scratch anything lol

    Baby is the size of a(n): “could fit on a can of tuna” 

    Team blue/pink/green: Its official: GIRL! My gut feeling was right! 

    Upcoming Appointments: I’ll see my midwives again at the end of the month, around 16.5 weeks.  I do need to do some bloodwork as my thyroid results came back low so they want to check out more. 

    How are you feeling?:  Honestly, SO much less anxious?! I think making it to just about 14 weeks, getting results back where I know baby is doing great, knowing the sex…it all just feels real now. I’m finally letting myself buy baby clothes and gear! And my nausea is finally subsiding! Still some gnarly headaches and really tired in the afternoons, but I can eat dinner again!! The shortness of breath is still constant but I’m taking my small win and running with it. 

    Rants/Raves: Rant: omg I am so constipated. Is there such a thing as TMI on these boards? whatever. It sucks. Rave: I am in Chicago for our annual work all-hands meeting. We are a 100% remote company so it is incredible getting to see everyone face to face!! Today is day 1 and I still have my presentation to prep for later but for now I just love getting to see people for real :) 

    Questions: none here, but answering another’s: I did one other BMB with my first and just had the most fabulous weekend visiting my best friend and her family, whom I met on that BMB! Our girls are 11 days apart and her 2nd daughter will be 9 months older than mine! We even got the Girl news at their house. Amazing. 

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? Oh, I would hands down get a second schmoopy-faced little meatball of a pitbull. We thought our Rosie would be more pitty than she is but we’ve had two pits before her and they are just the best. So snuggly and gentle and I love their big block heads. I am so slowly working my husband toward “second dog before baby arrives” because who needs status quo!?

    Upcoming Appointments: 9/14 rescheduled my cardiology appointment that I missed when I got rear ended in my hit and run (I was there victim, not the person who ran fwiw)

    How are you feeling?: Tired but also had a couple of things interrupting my sleep so it's all explainable 

    Rants/Raves: rant: the rental car I got has an air bag maintenance light on now😵‍💫 so hopefully get that resolved soon. And people should really not hit and run. It's rude and causes headaches for all involved...

    Rant against myself: I want to participate more in these boards I just find myself not doing it as much as with DS (pregnancy #1 in 2018/2019). I value the relationships we all developed I just feel like life is so chaotic lately.

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? An elephant. They are so absolutely stunning and remarkable. I'd struggle to house and feed it tho🤣

    Upcoming Appointments: NT on Thursday 

    How are you feeling?: Shortness of breath, fatigue, rhinitis, RLP. Other than that I'm good 😅 At least I haven't thrown up, since that's a phobia of mine.

    Rants/Raves: Rants: FIL is coming from out of country to visit and unfortunately we dont have room to offer him a bed right now so I feel really bad about it. We don't really get along though. I still want to be a good host, but I'm kinda glad I couldn't get the time off work. I'll probably be too tired to entertain to be honest.

    Raves: My husband has cleaned the whole house in preparation while I slept 😂 I feel bad having him do all this but I literally cannot stay awake very long 

    Questions: None atm.

    I've already got 30+ reptiles and 2 cats so I'm good for now 😂

    How are you feeling?: not great but we’re in the middle of a crazy heat wave and I don’t think that’s helping anything. 

    Rants/Raves: Currently irritated over anxiety making it hard for me to sleep, but that could be the heat too. Our house doesn’t have AC and the room AC unit we ordered was delayed. Hopefully it will get here today. 

    Questions: can’t think of one.

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? I’ve never really wanted a pet but recently I’ve been wanting a kitty. And I’m allergic 😅

    Baby is the size of a(n): ok the What to Expect app says a "cootie catcher" because I switched it to 90s nostalgia. I find that funny


    Team blue/pink/green: I think we will find out at the anatomy US now - I feel convinced it's a girl 

    Upcoming Appointments: today! Just a check up with my doctor, but hoping she will find the heartbeat today

    How are you feeling?: Anxious because I want to hear baby's heartbeat

    Rants/Raves: Rant - I'm back to work teaching today (goodbye summer) and so nervous about nausea and fatigue. Not sure how I'm gonna get through the day without a nap. Rave - one of my best friends just had her first baby two days ago, and she's with the same clinic and hospital as I am. Everything went great and I can't wait to meet my baby's automatic bestie!

    Questions: Has anyone started having a sore back this early? I noticed my lower back has started to get sore, and I am like 'oh no... This seems early, what will 8 months in be like then?"

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? A dog. We can't have one because of the landlord rules, and I so want a family dog to play with our future kids.

    Baby is the size of a(n): wee little strawberry!

    Team blue/pink/green: will not find out until our anatomy scan in November but have a feeling team blue.

    Upcoming Appointments: 9/20 for some labs and a check up and to meet our OB for the first time since we unfortunately had to fire the first one.

    How are you feeling?: Better than I thought, besides exhaustion from intense dreams and continuous waking during the night (not even to pee!)

    Rants/Raves: Rants- none at the moment. Raves- I am appreciating my husband so much right now! He has been a saint and is so attentive to my needs and the house needs. He has started kissing my belly everyday and talking to the baby. We are both so excited!

    Questions: nope!

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? I would have a dog, we are thinking of getting a springer spaniel sometime after the baby is born and gets a little older. Moving up the mountain soon so would love to have a dog to keep a watch on us and the house!

    @firecracker_mama so glad to hear you are okay! Hit and run, that is terrible but I am sure karma will catch up to that no good some day!

    @nopegoat a fox is my spirit animal! When i went to London a couple years ago they were everywhere like stray cats! I would just sit outside and watch and listen to them. :smile:

    @muggsd this is my 2nd BMB. We were a very close group and still are to this day! We have a private Facebook group where we all keep in touch. Some of us have met up or plan to in the future!

    @disneybaby23 yes, for me it was. My sneak peek said boy and so did our NIPT results. However I’ve seen way more false results than not. Male DNA can easily contaminate it so either we got really lucky and it was just accurate or it was contaminated and accurate 🤣 I’d have rather just saved my money now that we did the NIPT when before we didn’t think it was an option or just waited until 20 weeks.

    How are you feeling?: tiiiiiiiiired. I hate going back to teach the day after Labor Day when we’ve already been in school for 10 days prior 🥱

    Rants/Raves: I only have a half day of work tomorrow thanks to my appt 🎉
    But my rant is that I got summoned for jury duty in October  😭

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? An elephant ♥️ They are gentle giants and such amazing creatures.

    How are you feeling?: Hungry but constipated! 😂 My appetite has really increased in the last few days. I’m still sore and achy almost daily. 

    Rants/Raves: Once again, the heat can go away now 😂 I’m ready for fall weather!

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? A horse! I grew up riding them and miss owning one.

    Upcoming Appointments: Monday for 14 week appt!

    How are you feeling?: I *think* a little better? I’ve been super super lucky and my biggest complaint has been loss of energy. It sort of feels like I’m starting to come out of that, but not sure.

    Rants/Raves:
    *TW* Rant: I’m frustrated with myself because I’m still very hesitant to let myself really believe this is happening! I’ve had two ultrasounds and proof of heartbeat both times, but I guess it’s just hard after a loss? I have been reading up on pregnancy and checking out the group board, but besides that it’s been hard to make myself pull the trigger on planning or let myself enjoy much about the pregnancy. Maybe after the 14 week appt I’ll feel more reassured.

    Rave: I’m so close to the second trimester, I can taste it! I’m just itching for that energy bounce back!

    Questions: none for now

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? 
    I’d love to have some more “exotic” pets like reptiles and such, but honestly a dog is enough work for me. I also like the idea of having a menagerie of pets, but I don’t think I have it in me! We will *maybe* get a second dog as a companion at some point, but at this point she’s been a single dog for almost 5 years.

    How are you feeling?: Not terrible, but the queasiness is lingering, as is the exhaustion.

    Upcoming Appointments: Anatomy scan on Oct 12, dang that's coming up quickly!

    Rants/Raves: Just a rave for today. My littlest is sick but DH stayed home today with him and DD2. I'm so glad he's finally in a job where he feels like he CAN take the sick time that he's accumulated. 

    Questions: Anyone else already have their anatomy scan on the books?

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? A dolphin. Can you imagine owning this massive pool/aquarium, and going "hey, I'm going to go swim with my pet dolphin." They are so intelligent too.

    @muggsd - This is my 4th BMB!

    @Wishilivedinflorida - I need to see if DH can do that to my dryer. Except he'd have to do both doors since they currently swing into each other.

    @disneybaby23 - I've always had to wait for the anatomy scan for gender. It seems like a long wait, but it comes faster than you think!

    @muggsd this is my second BMB, first was with DD (April 21) and we still talk daily! We're hoping for a meet up soon. 

    @heytallmama yay girl!!! I feel like this is another girl too!

    Upcoming Appointments: OB on Tuesday, ultrasound on Wednesday

    How are you feeling?: Soooo tired. I'm getting headaches, which are no fun. Nausea comes and goes, but when it's here its terrible. I HATE throwing up in the bathrooms at work, blech. 

    Rants/Raves: Anyone remember Father of the Bride Part 2? Where Frank tells George to "kapeeka" sp?? and George says "I'm too tired to kapeeka" that's what I thought of when I got to the rant/rave section lol. 

    Questions: NATM

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? Hmm, I think a dog. DH is allergic so he's against getting pets. DD LOVES dogs though so who knows how long he will hold out lol.

    Team blue/pink/green: Looking like pink - though I realized that the doctor's 60% certainty about this is even lower than I was thinking! I thought, huh, 60%, a lot closer to 100 than 0, when I should have been thinking between 50 to 100. Obviously, even if you just flip a coin in the air, you have a 50% chance of getting it right.

    Upcoming Appointments: Neurology next week (I have MS and had a tiny flare at the beginning of this pregnancy - after 5.5 years without any flares - and they want to do an MRI and make sure I don't have any signs of current activity), next OB dr's appointment in early October

    How are you feeling?: Fine, super lazy

    Rants/Raves: Rave: Made my first baby-related purchases! We have almost nothing on our walls and I wanted some cheery art for the baby - I bought a gorgeous oil painting from a local artist with flowers, the ocean, and lots of tropical color. Also bought a few baby books, a carrier, and some baby clothes, most of which were $1-2 (all used). Rant: Still lots of dumb fights at home, unfortunately.

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? A dog or two and a cat or two. Sounds so plain, but after a decade plus of living an "exotic" life abroad, it's the simple things that really call to me. I'll wait till I'm back and, hopefully, have a big yard for them to run around in.

    @heytallmama Oh, constipation is a constant for me, though I never mention it in the symptoms. (It's a constant even when I'm not pregnant) At my dr's appt on Tuesday, I weighed 146.6 lb and, once I came home, took off my jeans, and, um, spent some time in the bathroom, I was almost four pounds lighter! (and, yes, I do trust the accuracy of my scale)

    @foxofmoore What sounds did the foxes make?

    @bbrahmbhatt I don't remember that line! (I have part 1 practically memorized, though) Definitely have to rewatch.

    @muggsd this is my 3rd baby but the first BMB I’ve actually interacted with. I had a much larger “village” around me with my first two kiddos. Now I feel a lot more alone and this group has been helpful. I’m definitely not the best at communicating but I’m trying. ☺️

    Team blue/pink/green: Awaiting sneakpeek results

    Upcoming Appointments: Currently in the 1 hr wait for glucose test at the lab, midwife appt on 9/14

    How are you feeling?: Currently nauseous from the nasty orange drink, haha. Overall there are good days and bad days but I am hopeful that the mere existence of good days means there is a light at the end of the tunnel. 3 more weeks of the first trimester.

    Rants/Raves: Rave - we got an air BNB in a tiny town in the country over labor day weekend and I slept so much. It was glorious. Hubby took our daughter out to play in the yard and let me sleep and knit as much as I wanted.

    Questions:

    GTKY: If you could have any any animal as a pet, what would you have any why? Honestly, I'm pretty happy with our two cats. Hubby wants a puppy but we don't have the yard or space for an energetic animal and I just don't want another thing that constantly seeks my attention and approval. I've been trying to push for a fat, lazy, older dog. This is why cats are perfect. They ignore you and you seek their approval, not the other way around. Maybe this should have gone in the unpopular opinion thread.

    @cheznet if you are at higher risk for GD either through family history, history of GD/diabetes yourself, bloodwork/urine shows high glucose, then they make you take it early. I had GD with my 3rd and with my 4th and 5th pregnancies they made me take it early just to be safe and then again in the beginning of third tri.

    @cheznet I just seem to be perpetually flagged for it. With my daughter I had to do it 3 times because they kept insisting that the baby was so large therefore I must have GD (spoiler alert: she was totally normal sized at 7lbs 5oz, but with a huge head which is how they predict baby size in the 3rd tri). This time, they saw that I have PCOS and therefore am high risk for GD.

    @cheznet I started my pre pregnancy weight way too high so I did a glucose test 3ish weeks ago. I failed and had to do the 3 hour one. It sucked. They told me I have to repeat at week 20. Everyone on my moms side gets GD or borderline so they are keeping an eye on me for it. Normally it’s not til later though. 

    @nopegoat what types of lifestyle/diet changes did you need to make with GD(if any)? I’m so curious because I have a feeling I’m going to fail my next glucose test. I was super close on the last one.

    @disneybaby23 mostly just diet changes for me. Focusing on a more balanced diet, correct protein/carb proportions, and less carbs/sugar in general. They also say being active after meals, even if it's just a short walk helps glucose levels but I'm relatively active anyways chasing after my crew so I didn't have to incorporate any extra exercise or anything.

    @noxacanthus @disneybaby23 I had to take it at week 8 too because I have a family history of diabetes and I am over 35 and overweight. I failed with DD (I didn't know they were going to make me do it and had a bagel right before going to the OB), and I had to take the 3-hour twice. I passed it with flying colors both times. They still made me take it early again, but I passed this time, so now I just have to wait until later for the 3hr.

    @nopegoat ok that makes me feel better. I’ve already been trying to make some of those changes in preparation. Thanks for the info!

    @bbrahmbhatt isn’t the 3 hour the worst? When I went for mine they were having a food truck fair going on outside the hospital - rotisserie chicken and tacos and stuff. I was so pissed because I had to fast. Then when my test was finally done the fair was already over.

    @disneybaby23 a little trick I learned when you are craving something sweet, snickers ice cream bars are the perfect carb/protein ratio for a nighttime snack. 😉

    Team blue/pink/green: Pink! According to my NIPT. I’m so thrilled. 

    Upcoming Appointments: September 27th for my next Midwife app.

    How are you feeling?: Kind of sick. I’m not sure if I have a cold or if this is just pregnancy symptoms. I’m super congested and have been getting terrible headaches. I’ve also had a lot more nausea the the last few weeks. It was terrible this morning, so I had to take a nap just two hours after waking up. 

    Rants/Raves: I bought my first baby clothes yesterday. I saw this adorable little cardigan and couldn’t resist. 

    Questions: NA

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? I always thought a little monkey would be cute, but a baby is basically the same thing, right? 😉

    How are you feeling?: a little less nauseous, but still throwing up in the morning. Occasionally at other times.

    Rants/Raves: my son slept "in" almost to 7 this morning

    GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have and why? We already have a cat, but if she was cool with dogs, I might want a midsized dog (mutt).
