Re: PGAL (Pregnant After a Loss) Check-In: 8/30-9/7

  • I guess I'll get this started

    Weeks/EDD? 5 weeks

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? I had an ectopic that I found in 2019. Long story short, over a week of very light bleeding, feeling pregnant but not, forcing a quick u/s by my OB that found nothing (they werent going to see me but I pretty much made them), pushing to get a better u/s thus finding the ectopic next to my ovary, have a failed methotrexate treatment, and loss of my right tube. I have a 25% risk of having another ectopic (a stat that my OB told me but I looked up and it closer to 10%--either way, f'ing sucks). I also had an early miscarriage a few months before that.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Scared. Every twinge, every cramp, has me second guessing. :/ I also have no symptoms, so that's freaking me out.

Any appointment updates? blood work on tuesday, then waiting for my second u/s, hopefully on Wed

Any big milestones? Had my first u/s, but couldn't find anything :/

Rants/Raves/Questions? It's insane I cant get my labs done ANYWHERE for 2 days (sunday & monday) unless I get checked into the ER. Like I get that tech deserve the day off too, but shouldn't there be one outpatient lab I should be able to go to?! Ugh.

  • I’m so sorry you’re going through this- totally get the awful waiting. Had a 16 week loss in May and then a chemical. If it makes you feel better, I had no symptoms with my son besides exhaustion and mood swings and he is a seven year old now. And I’m having very little symptoms now at 4w5d. I have to hope for a higher bloodwork on Tuesday and am going through the Sunday/ Monday wait as well 💕 I’m watching married at first sight, totally helps, being distracted by drama (best I can)
  • Weeks/EDD? 5W2D / May 5

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? I had a very early CP in July (3W5D). It started with a surge of pregnancy symptoms upon implantation that faded over the course of a week.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically, fine: just some short waves of fatigue and cold spells. I knew my CP was starting when I woke up and my boobs felt empty, so I'm compulsively feeling them now to make sure they're still "full." :grimace:

Emotionally, just trying to tell myself that my CP was probably just a freak occurrence, and that I didn't really "feel pregnant" with my daughter until 6W.

Any appointment updates? First US is on 9/29. I'm weirdly nervous that my provider will find a blighted ovum because that happened to my mom. I've been telling people I have a general good feeling about this pregnancy and I really hope I'm not jinxing it  :(

Any big milestones? Whenever I start feeling like crap, I'll probably feel more relieved. :D

But unless I start bleeding or have "empty boobs," I plan on telling my family at my birthday party on Tuesday. They all learned about my first pregnancy very early, my mom and sister know about my CP, so God forbid it happens again, I'll have them for support.

    Rants/Raves/Questions? none for now
  • I lost my baby girl at 9 weeks. She had a strong heartbeat at 8 weeks and I carried her until 12 weeks not knowing she was not with us. Truly devastating. Now I’m pregnant again and have so much anxiety and worries that something will happen again. I don’t have my first appointment for 2 weeks and the days go by so slow. I don’t have any symptoms which makes it worse. Thinking about maybe getting a heart monitor. Im just hoping everything will be ok. I won’t feel better until the genetic testing comes back and the ultrasound looks good.
  • @knottie712477beedb99152 That is awful, I'm so sorry to hear you went through that. Hopefully you will find support in this community. <3

  • Hey all, i had an early loss last summer and finally was able to get pregnant again, physically I'm only a bit fatigued but I'm not doing good mentally. I estimated I'm 4 weeks 6 days today, got my levels drawn yesterday and it was only 57. Getting another draw tomorrow but I'm living in a constant state of panic that I could lose this one as well.
  • Hey mamas - thanks for sharing your journeys to date! I’m currently 4w5d… this was my first cycle after suffering a miscarriage at 12 weeks back in early July. My baby girl had clean genetics, heartbeat, etc… We lost her around 10.5 weeks. Body didn’t know it yet 😔 It was the most horrific experience and a complete gut punch.

Physically I feel like I’m yawning a lot (had to pull back on the cold brews!). Emotionally, I feel every twinge and cringe every time I go to the bathroom… worried about what I’m going to see. Trying to take it one day at a time.

I haven’t made an appointment yet since I’m monitoring hcg at home with strips. I’ll likely call soon though. I’m just a bit nervous that this is “real.”

looking forward to a more positive journey with y’all!! 💕
