Team blue/pink/green: Hopefully find out in a couple of weeks
Upcoming Appointments: Have the NIPS on the 29th. I was suppose to be this Wednesday but my dating US had me 4 days earlier than I thought, and then I'm in the mountains on holidays for my entire week 10 so I have to wait until 11 weeks.
How are you feeling?: So tired, with minimal energy.
Rants/Raves: Raves: Have my girls camping trip this weekend, then as soon as I get home, we are leaving for the mountains for a week. I'm so excite. Rant: The NPIS test I'm getting doubles in price Sept 1 and because I'm on holidays I will have to pay double the price to get it done which wasn't the original plan. I'm hoping that since I will be getting the test done on the 29th, that it will get there before the 1st and I can fight it and pay the lower price.

Rants/Raves:Rant - I told my boss about being pregnant and it's more turned into like, "well make sure XYZ is done," and "this new hire needs to be able to do this without you..." like...yes. I know. Believe me, I have thought of it all. I know it's coming from a place of wanting to help and probably a place of "oh shit!" on her part but also... yes, among the 1,000 things on my mind, I am in fact, thinking of these things. Rave: We told our daughter the news on Friday night and she is THRILLED. It is so so cute. She keeps saying "hi, little baby!" or "goodnight, little baby!" and asking tons of questions. She's going to be such a good big sister.
Questions: For those of you who have bought gear recently - what are some of your favorite big ticket items? So much has changed in the last 7 years, and there are so many more option for high chairs, car seats, strollers, etc (that are also a bit more stylish than the stuff we had the first time). I'm starting to build out an Amazon list of things to do more research on, and would love to hear what things people really love these days. Links and/or pictures appreciated! ((or maybe we start a new thread? too soon?))
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? A Caribbean vacation. Give me sun, mid-high 80s temps, sand, clear water, no plans but having great food and drink, and hanging out with a pair or two of our friends, no kids.
@heytallmama we had a weekly pregnancy apotligh thread in my last BMB. Every week was something specific like strollers, or diaper bags. I really liked that organization so if you wanted to go back to something specific you could.
This is the screenshot of the schedule we had. We had some very organized people in that group haha.

I really want to wait a little bit longer to announce to the world especially since I haven’t been to the doctor yet.

I'm staying with my in-laws, and haven't told them yet that we are expecting. My husband gets here in a couple of days and then we will tell them together. I've had to lie/hide aversions so many times already. I can't wait to just tell them!

Questions:
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? Greece is #1. Also Aruba, Turks & Caicos, Antigua, St. Lucia.. any of those Caribbean island beauties ♥️
EDD / Weeks + Days: 9 weeks tomorrow - still not sure on EDD - going to let the Dr figure that one out

Team blue/pink/green: still getting pink vibes but we’ll see - trying to resist buying a sneak peek
Upcoming Appointments: next Thursday I finally having my dating scan.
How are you feeling?: I actually feel great. Tired but feeling a lot better than before I was pregnant. I was dealing with depression from not being able to get pregnant so getting pregnant seemed to clear that up a bit. Now just enjoying being able to feel joyful.
Rants/Raves: Rants - my clients are turds. Pretty much every week I go through a cycle of hating being in the financial sector and wishing I did something else and then being okay with it. Raves - my husband is nesting, cleaning the house, learning to cook, doing dishes. We’ve always been super 50/50 about house chores since we both work but he’s definitely taken over most of it lately.
Questions: none right now
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? Egypt - Gaza pyramids, Amarna, valley of the kings, Abu Simbel, Nile cruise. I am a huge Egyptian history buff and this has been a dream trip for many years.

Baby is the size of a(n): gummy bear
Team blue/pink/green: Finding out!
Upcoming Appointments: Still struggling with insurance to be seen by an OB. I have a referral now, and I'm supposed to call the OB office on Wed/Thur to see if the authorization was approved.
How are you feeling?: SO FREAKIN BLOATED. My eating habits are all over the place because I either eat one bite and blow up like a balloon or I haven't eaten all day so I eat everything in sight. I have also reached the "too many tacos" stage of a pre-baby bump from all the gas.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I am just not feeling work. I know that they're going to have to switch me to a desk job at 20 weeks and part of me is ready to be done with the nonsense and stress and I just want to get it over with. Rave - I actually had the energy to leave the house this weekend and we had a nice time. We went to a crafter's market and the local mall.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? - I'd love to go back to Japan someday. We lived there from 2017-2019 and we were both sad to leave. I read this book called Pretty Good Number One about a father who takes his daughter on an eating tour of Japan and I've always dreamed that we would do that with our daughter. Now maybe daughters?!?
@miss_lynn9 My F20 BMB did something similar and it worked out really well. Would definitely be down to do it again because I'm sure things have changed in the last 3 years.
@miss_lynn9 My F20 BMB did something similar and it worked out really well. Would definitely be down to do it again because I'm sure things have changed in the last 3 years.
Same. I’m overwhelmed and my youngest is only turning 4. Plus I need some new stuff I sold. And I definitely have stuff I swear by that I would love to give info about!
Team blue/pink/green: Either! I had a few dreams it was a boy, but my husband thinks it’s a girl.
Upcoming Appointments: September 8
How are you feeling?: Still riding the nausea roller coaster. Some days I feel fine, and other I’m a hot mess. My allergies are kicking in, and the phlegm in my throat is not helping my nausea. 😅
Rants/Raves: Rant- I have new-hire teacher trainings later this week and PD meetings all next week, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to survive them.😅 Also, we have another heat wave this week. My poor central air can’t keep up. I’m ready for fall!
Rave- My hunger is coming every 3 hours and not 2 anymore! Which will be great when school starts…now if I can retrain my bladder to do the same. 😅
Questions: N/A
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? I would love to go back to Kauai, it was so beautiful! I also want to travel to Europe.
Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow and I'm super nervous
How are you feeling?: Horrible! No sooner did I tell the midwife that I feel way less sick this time around than I started having round the clock nausea 🤦🏻 I should have kept my mouth shut
Rants/Raves:
Rant: I'm so annoyed by my kids' school's lack of communication. They never send emails or mail home with important events. Like today I learned that I missed our in-person re-registration because the only place they announced it was on their Facebook page and I'm barely on Facebook. I feel like I have to jump through hoops to figure out what events are happening when and where. Half the time the only reason I know about half days are because my kid tells me. There's no emails / papers home about it, it's not on the website, etc. It's so frustrating.
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? I had a great time camping with my friends and our kids recently so maybe taking campers around the US and visiting a bunch of locations would be great fun
Ladybug - April 2013 Dandelion - October 2018 Angel "Aurora" - July 2020 Angel "Sawyer" - May 2021 Angel "Maxine" - January 2022 Angel "Violet" - March 2022 Baby Dove due March 2023
Our school has a really outdated website that is hardly ever updated. So I definitely get that. Thankfully we have a super attentive office lady who’s been there since my husband was in elementary school so she knows our life 😂 a little too well actually.
Upcoming Appointments: midwife is coming up… next week I think?
How are you feeling?: this week I’ve been struggling with lightheadedness, which triggers nausea. I have extremely low blood pressure in pregnancy so I’m trying to eat all of the salt when I can.
Rants/Raves: I feel like I haven’t been able to do enough lately to really have strong like/dislike for something. I’ll RAVE about MH though cause he has been holding this house together lately with zero complaints and only support. He’s a total gem.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? Next on our list is Switzerland & Austria. Hopefully we will be able to go in a few years!
Upcoming Appointments: Had a consultation with a midwife today. I also have another ultrasound on Tuesday at which I should get the results of the blood tests I took a couple of weeks ago.
How are you feeling?: A little more lightheaded and nauseous this week, but still not too bad. I haven’t had any bad morning sickness, so I’ve been lucky. I’ve been super tired, though. I slept almost 12 hours last night (not including waking up multiple times to pee and sneeze 🤧). Still stupid congested, but when it’s too bad I take a Benadryl.
Rants/Raves: It’s my man’s birthday tomorrow, so I’m taking a few days off, and am so ready to not work. I love my job, but I need a break. One of my coworkers was in a car accident last week and hasn’t been back to work, so I’ve been working extra to cover her, and I’m so tired
Questions: Anyone have any other suggestions for managing congestion while pregnant?
GTKY: I really want to go on a European adventure. I’ve never been overseas, just explored the US and Canada, so it’s my dream to make it to the other side of the world.
How are you feeling?: Fine, just more tired and hungry. I went on a girls' weekend, and driving back on Monday I threw up a few times (curvy roads). Prior to that, I'd had zero nausea, zero vomiting the whole pregnancy, so that was a surprise. I choose to interpret it as a good sign!
Rants/Raves: Rave: I told my other sister, so both sisters know now. She was so encouraging and surprised. She and her husband and kids will be visiting my parents at the end of the month and asked if I want them to help with telling my parents (I'm in another country, so it has to be remotely). I need ideas! Rant: I think it's more fat (eating more), bloating, and constipation than baby per se, but I'm definitely seeing more of a belly. Gosh, is it nice to just not zip up my jeans when in a car or at home.
Questions: Anyone else deciding to skip or at least hold off on the NIPT?
@lightintothevoid I take claratin. The key is taking it every single day so it stays in your system. It helps me a lot and keeps a lot of the congestion down but if I miss even on day then I swear it rears right back. And I add a couple of extra pillows at night too to keep all the yuck from accumulating in my face.
@missmuisq we're getting it done this time but didn't last time. With our second, I conceived quickly and I was younger and it didn't make sense to get it when it wasn't covered by insurance. This time I had 4 losses preceding getting pregnant and our clinic won't do another ultrasound until 20+ weeks so it's something that I worry about. I think if your risk is pretty low, then it makes sense to skip it, especially with it not being covered by most insurance policies

@missmuisq 7th pregnancy have never done it. Insurance doesn't cover it and anything we feel we need to be prepared for would most likely be caught during our 20wk anatomy scan.

@missmuisq 7th pregnancy have never done it. Insurance doesn't cover it and anything we feel we need to be prepared for would most likely be caught during our 20wk anatomy scan.
I’m leaning this way but will probably do NT. On my portal the “info” about prenatal testing only lists NT and not NIPT so it may not even be offered. I’ll find out later today. I have a friend who does NIPT every time to find out the sex and I find that to be a little expensive and a poor use of resources.
I didn't get the NIPT with my first but after my MC I want to get it with this pregnancy. I wasn't going to because the Canadian test is crazy expensive, but my MW clinic uses a US company that's so much cheaper so I'm going for it. I don't like that I won't get another US until 20w but I think it will be worth the info.
I'm doing it again this time. I'm >35 so at a slightly higher risk and it's something we would want to know as early as possible. My insurance covers it, but it was actually cheaper to just pay the flat fee than the insurance price last time. For me, I think the $100 is worth the peace of mind/information, but I'm very "to each their own" and don't think there's a one-size fits all answer.
@heytallmama I just got my diaper bag delivered yesterday! I did a ton of research on bags before we were even pregnant and was 100% sold on the Ayla bag! When I told my mother I was pregnant, she instantly ordered it for me because I had talked so much about it 🫣 It is a fairly new company, but you can find some reviews on YouTube and they have a great page on Instagram @ayla.and.co
The best part ...it comes with a mini portable vacuum that's perfect for carseat/ car/ stroller messes!
Same about the nausea coming back with a vengeance! I humble bragged to my husband that I was a lucky one who was over it at week 9...there were like 4 nice days before it came roaring back. Humility is the word you're looking for lol
Team blue/pink/green: not sure yet, but both think and hope for blue!
Upcoming Appointments: I'm still waiting to hear back from a midwife. It has been extremely difficult to find one in my area who isn't booked for our EDD. I'm supposed to hear back today! Prayers appreciated that she has a vacancy!
How are you feeling?: V humbling week... nausea has been extremely bad and I have stayed home/ cancelled all meetings & outings this week. I feel exhausted, sore, and weak from all the vomiting and not being able to get good nourishment to stay inside my body!
Rants/Raves: My husband was pretty adamant about waiting until 12 weeks to announce to everybody, but we are both so over it. We have told a handful of people, but we both can't wait to not have to lie/ hide/ evade lol. I'm trying to find an excuse to get his parents to visit so we can tell them in person, but there doesn't seem to be a valid reason right now. But I'm determined to figure it out!
Questions: GTKY: What's your dream vacation? Mountains or the seaside... anywhere with breathtaking views, local history and culture, and great local food. Give me good conversation and connection around a fire pit at night, games or puzzles with either a glass of wine or hot cocoa...I love "cozy" evenings on vaca! We would love to visit Israel, Greece, and Italy.
@thefourthseed your wish list for travel made me think of our trip to Sardinia in Italy. Driving around down these beautiful coastlines, amazing food everywhere, beaches, water, more food, etc. It was amazing and it sounds like you'd love it!

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime
Team blue/pink/green: Either! I had a few dreams it was a boy, but my husband thinks it’s a girl.
Upcoming Appointments: September 8
How are you feeling?: Still riding the nausea roller coaster. Some days I feel fine, and other I’m a hot mess. My allergies are kicking in, and the phlegm in my throat is not helping my nausea. 😅
Rants/Raves:
Rant- I have new-hire teacher trainings later this week and PD meetings all next week, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to survive them.😅 Also, we have another heat wave this week.
Baby is the size of a(n): tart kumquat
Team blue/pink/green: green

Team blue/pink/green: pink!
Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry
Team blue/pink/green: Still hoping for pink.
Baby is the size of a(n): Plum
Team blue/pink/green: Green
Upcoming Appointments: NT scan next Thursday
GTKY: What's your dream vacation? All of Europe

The best part ...it comes with a mini portable vacuum that's perfect for carseat/ car/ stroller messes!
Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry
Questions:
GTKY: What's your dream vacation?
Mountains or the seaside... anywhere with breathtaking views, local history and culture, and great local food. Give me good conversation and connection around a fire pit at night, games or puzzles with either a glass of wine or hot cocoa...I love "cozy" evenings on vaca! We would love to visit Israel, Greece, and Italy.
