Waters broke

Well on the day of my baby shower little man has decided 3am is an ideal time to break my waters.

currently in hospital being monitored for signs of labour, and being pumped with anti biotics and steroids.

But of a back story I’ve been having a normal pregnancy apart from a few bumps in the road.

Last night I felt so uncomfortable and pressure went to sleep awoke at 3am to my younger son got out of bed and pop.

im currently 33+1 not sure what the plan is yet

has any experienced Pprom before? And advice welcome

Re: Waters broke

  • Haven’t experienced this myself but I’m an L&D nurse and when we have patients who PPROM they usually try to stop labor and keep them pregnant until 34 weeks if possible. Research shows there’s no benefit in waiting past 34 weeks. The steroids will help baby’s lungs to mature and hopefully decrease NICU time. Sorry you’re going through all of this!

  • @holly0810 No experience with it myself, but two friends have had this happen, both of whom were earlier along and both babies needed preemie time in the NICU but were okay. Sending so much love and strength to you, mama!
  • Thinking of you @holly0810 -we're here for support and keep us posted on how everything is going <3
  • @holly0810 thinking of you and hoping all is going well.
  • @holly0810 keeping you both in my prayers ❤️
  • @holly0810 i am so relieved that everything is going well given the circumstances. My daughter has never been larger than the 5% for weight or height- she even fell off the chart at 9 months. At nearly 7 she weighs 40 pounds. She is absolutely fine , super athletic, incredibly intelligent and very healthy . She is just very small. I know given your situation it might be different but I would also take some comfort in knowing that some babies/kiddos are just small and that is ok.
