  • No confession (yet) but I'm glad that we're at the point where we're doing more broad threads and not just the check ins :) These are fun :)
  • @cheznet I fail to the confession. That's just good planning.

My confession, I think every single kid/person should have to take a class/lesson on where their food comes from.  People have become so far removed from their food these days that some truly believe that their food just comes from the grocery store. No thoughts about how it gets there.  It's kind of scary to me.

  • @nopegoat I don't see yours as a confession either! I think that's a great idea!
  • I forgot to mention that my co-teacher was pregnant last year and due around the same time so our boss is going to have deja vu getting mat leave replacement for me this time. 😂
  • @marebear15 I have the same confession but wine 🍷 😂 the tiniest sip and the most glorious taste!
  • @cheznet I’m in a similar boat- I’ll be out during Q2, which is typically high stress for me in sales within my industry. I’ll come back to work with the stressful part behind us and the excitement of closing deals in front of me 😅
  • FFFC:
I work from home full-time, and today I don't have nearly as many meetings as typical. I need to accomplish ONE THING (that I've been putting off for weeks and should maybe take me 30 minutes) and when I do it, I am going to do "focus work" aka, put myself on do not disturb, and then watch season 3 of Never Have I Ever.
  • @heytallmama @cheznet that is one thing that I didn’t think through as far as work. At the tax firm I used to work at if someone was due before tax day they got to skip the busy season for maternity leave but my husband and I became self employed a few years ago and now with baby coming in March all the work will just get pushed back for me to deal with later.
  • @TortugaAzul I feel you. It's tough feeling sick all the time and I'm already thinking about how we'll have to deal with interrupted sleep and blow outs and lots of crying and stress. My toddler was a hard newborn. But we did this because we wanted another and we know that it gets easier! ❤️
  • @TortugaAzul I’m in the exact same boat and it is hard. Add to it that this is the worst I’ve felt in any pregnancy and it makes it hard to get excited. Seeing a baby last Monday definitely made it real but I haven’t gotten to a place where I feel like it’s happening yet. I’m sure once I get some confirmation later on that this pregnancy is still viable and the nausea and exhaustion let up a little (and I let the kids know), I’ll be more excited.

I am way over my head right now in projects and stuff that I need to get done and catch up on around the farm and house. Like I could cry I have so much to do. Yet here I am looking at labrador puppies for sale because our 1yr old labrador needs a friend because that's exactly what we need right now. H keeps shutting it down and I keep going back and forth on whether I should just ask for forgiveness as a plop an adorable puppy in his lap. 😅

  • @TortugaAzul I hate being pregnant so the excitement doesn't kick in for me till it's basically baby time and even then it's more of OMG get this baby out of me I'm so miserable. I loove the babies though which is why I keep putting myself through this.  😅😭

Thank you for the encouragement! It always seems like everyone is just so ready and excited for a baby and I feel guilty knowing there are women who want this so badly and are struggling.
I think part of it is not looking forward to the newborn/infant stage either. My daughter was a very Colicky newborn and then my son had a bunch of random health problems all in his first year and we ended up having an emergency hospital stay over Christmas.
  • @cheznet 6 months off is going to be the best 🙌🏻
  • @nopegoat I think it’s different for us who were raised on farms vs. people who are not. And at least in the Midwest our students get a lot of ag education on where food comes from so I feel it’s a bit different in my area at least. But yes there are definitely still people around here who could use some of that education for sure.
  • @mommarosie1 oh me too! 😂 Today I was planning on doing that but then I found out they had pickle pizza.. and the craving was too strong 😂😂
  • @TortugaAzul I went to mellow mushroom over the weekend and they had a pizza with pickles on it. It was THE BEST!
