Spotting at 7.5 weeks

I had some spotting/ light bleeding tonight after almost 8 weeks and I freaked out. Went to the ER, got an ultrasound and heartbeat is still there (so happy!) but I am terrified. Didn’t have sex or do anything that explains the bleeding. 

Anyone have anything reassuring to share?

There are a lot of other threads on here about spotting - weeks 8 and 11/12 seem to be pretty common- as your placenta grows and attaches it can lead to spotting. If it is filling a pad, with cramping, bright red then call your OB - always been a good place to start for me and my questions.
