Nausea and Vomiting + Gas cramps at night ONLY

I wake up every 1h30min during the night feeling nausea, vomiting every time and then when I wake up not feeling nauseous, I feel gas cramps.

Any advice? I keep ice water and salt crackers next to my bed during at night. I cannot fully lie down, otherwise it makes worst. I don’t understand why it is only happening at night - what do you usually eat before going to bed and how long before?

  • Hello! 😊
This was a big issue for me! It feels horrible! I started eating about 30 minutes prior to going to bed and it has helped! Try toast and a nice cup of tea ♥️
    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Knottie+numbers,

Welcome to March 23! We discourage one off posts like this because it clogs the board up. We have a symptom thread where you’ll probably get more responses. If you haven’t done so, you should change your username to something more recognizable and introduce yourself on the intro thread.

For what it’s worth, laying down can promote reflux and therefore nausea and maybe you should try to incline yourself a little. You could also call your OB for suggestions. Unison before bed if they approve it can help with nausea and sleep.
  • I had a similar issue during week 4. The gas pains were the worst, and I also dealt with diarrhoea. I could barely keep food down… Vitamin b6, 25mg, twice a day really helped me. As did Canada Dry BOLD ginger ale and ginger chews. Contact your doctor/midwife/nurse before trying anything new, and if it continues so they make sure you are staying hydrated.
