Thrush in Toddler - First Time

My almost exactly 2 year old seemed to develop oral thrush out of no where last Friday. I took her to a walk in clinic and the Doc was less than helpful. He said it looked like thrush and gave me a prescription mouthwash. I started to use it and after 2 days or so it seemed to clear up but I decided to follow up with regular doctor. She said it’s very abnormal for a 2 year old to develop thrush and it could be something serious (HIV, Cancer, Auto Immune issue) . Anyone have a toddler develop thrush out of the blue and able to offer some comfort?
I’m terrified there’s something wrong with my baby. Waiting for blood tests but could be into next week.

Thrush is just yeast. It can from anything. I use Gentian Violet to treat thrush.
