Baby sprinkle?

2nd time mom, with our 2nd boy. People have told me that having a sprinkle for the same sex is silly... Thoughts? I just thought it would be fun to have a little sprinkle. Don't really need anything baby wise, so I wouldn't expect gifts. Also, only a couple people know the baby will be the same sex, we aren't telling most people until after he arrives.

I didn’t want to have any party for this baby since it’s my fourth and I felt silly but my husband pointed out that it’s my first girl and we have no girl things but more importantly every baby deserves to be celebrated. If you don’t need anything for the baby you can just ask for diapers in the invites.
