High-Risk Pregnancy

OBGYN concerns

Hi all,
I am in a bit of a conundrum. I am having twins, which automatically means I have “risked out” of midwifery services and have to be followed instead by a GYN MD. I have been set up with a doctor that is newer to the area with 20 years experience, as the other OB’s are full and cannot take on another high risk patient. I have some concerns about this doctor based on what a friend has told me (she works labor and delivery at the hospital where I also work). It doesn’t sound like I have any other options except to see this doctor. Have any of you had this same type of situation? What did you do and how did it turn out? I don’t know that I can fully trust her, and her reviews aren’t great.

Re: OBGYN concerns

  • Why does twins make you high risk? Women have been having twins since time began. I would invest more time into a birth plan instead of trusting decisions made by a stranger just because they have a degree.
