Mocktails when out

Would love a thread/recommendations for what people are ordering when they go out to eat/to bars with friends? My husband and I live near the ocean and spend a decent amount of days out at the beach/at outdoor restaurants with friends where most people are drinking. Soda water with lime is getting old 😂 anyone have a good go-to order?

Re: Mocktails when out

  • Virgin Mojitos!!!! Also virgin margaritas; I get the fruit frozen blended 😆
  • Loading the player...
  • We practically live on the boat in the summer and this past weekend I bought a case of la croix and some mio made my own little canned mocktail. (Tried to stay low cal)
Still fit in my coozie and eased my want for a seltzer 🤪
  • I was out the other weekend with my husband and had a strawberry mojito cocktail. I won't lie, I thought it was better than the real deal. Super refreshing
  • I enjoy an Arnold Palmer with unsweetened tea and fresh lemonade as my treat. Doesn't necessarily fit into category of mocktail but it's delicious! I also occasionally mix a little OJ and seltzer, I guess as a mock mimosa but I just think it's refreshing.
  • mojitos are always good for me too! the mint/lime combo is super refreshing!
  • Virgin Caesar’s if you live in Canada! It’s been super tough already this summer missing beer and yummy patio cocktails… I just mix it up wherever I’m out at and try new recommendations. Most servers are helpful with that!
  • I agree with the virgin Caesars. I’ve also found the non-alcoholic Heinekens are pretty good if you just want to scratch the itch for a beer.
  • I’m a bartender so I’ve had a little bit of fun coming up with mocktails. Mojitos are easy to make non-alcoholic and taste just as good as the real thing. Bloody Mary’s are also a great option for brunch/lunch time, you won’t even be able to tell there’s no alcohol (minus the buzz of course). If you go to a place with craft cocktails, they’ll often have homemade syrups that can be made into a mocktail with some lemon or lime juice, soda, and maybe some bitters. I went to a place once that even had a mocktail on the drink menu…it was so good my husband ended up ordering one too and adding alcohol to it. As long as the bar isn’t too busy, your bartender should be able to come up with something a little “fancy” for you!
