EDD / Weeks + Days: 7w0d - 2/6 (but why is it 7 weeks and not 7w1d, hm? Pregnancy math doesn’t make sense)

Upcoming Appointments: first appt this Thursday - super anxious to just be seen, especially after all of my symptoms disappeared for 5 days (but have now come back…).

How are you feeling?: Nauseous and tired in waves. Super bloated the last couple of days. 

Rants/Raves: I guess I’m happy my symptoms came back, ha. Never been so happy to be so nauseous.

Upcoming Appointments: Phone call with the GP tomorrow! I also referred myself to the hospital I plan to use so I have my first MW apt on July 18th (which is approximately forever away) and my dating ultrasound scheduled for August 12th.

How are you feeling?: Tired, sore boobs, slightly more irritable than normal. Also occasionally find myself starving 😂

Rants/Raves: I have work to do and can't bring myself to do it. So mostly, just ranting at myself.

GTKY: Who is an unusual or unexpected crush you had as a child? Man, this is a hard question! I cant think of any crush that isn't standard, e.g. Jordan Catalano 😁

@runningyogimama pregnancy math is the weirdest math. Like, it lasts 9 months (but really 10 months). FX for your first appointment.

@Paturkey so impressed with all the appointments you already have. My doctor is just like one appt at a time. I think it is bec I'm still just seeing my fertility specialist. I assume I'll get more regular appts when I move back to my regular OB.

EDD / Weeks + Days: 4 weeks and 5 days

Upcoming Appointments: One more blood draw on Thursday to check HCG

How are you feeling?: Mostly feeling good. Tired early in the evening. I have been having some weird pressure/cramping. See question below.

Rants/Raves: Feeling pretty even-steven today. Enjoying my day off catching up on gardening and having some alone time.

Questions: I've been having some pretty uncomfortable pelvic pressure and occasional intense cramping. I plan to bring it up to my doc, but wanted to throw it out to the group. Does this seem normal? I am using progesterone suppositories twice daily, which I didn't have last time. The cramping sort of seems related to that. I'm not sure.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Subtle symptoms.

GTKY: Who is an unusual or unexpected crush you had as a child? Hmmm Doogie Howser and MacGeyver. (I'm talking mid to late 1980s). I guess I've always had a thing for smart men.

7/19 first midwife visit; scheduling a dating ultrasound appointment for end of next week!

Tired, cranky, & wondering if nausea is going to appear! I was SO sick with my first but nothing so far this time around

@seeds_of_joy lol, yes!! What’s with kids that just seem to trail you making a mess while you’re cleaning up?!? My 11yo is amazing at that.

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday I’m having a phone appointment with a nurse, not sure what that’s going to accomplish 

How are you feeling?: Today my nausea kicked WAY up, so I’m feeling like I’m on the worst car trip of my life. My head feels gross and I’m starting to look as good as I feel, lol.

Rants/Raves: I’m so thankful for this smoothie place we have nearby that makes super healthy, not sicky sweet smoothies. That was my favorite thing I ate today aside from cold watermelon cubes. 

Questions: What should I ask my nurse on this week’s appointment?

Probably Zack from Saved By The Bell, lol. They were a little older for me, but he was cute 🥰

@LaceyBee522, If i remember correctly, I had mild, come and go cramping with DS due to progesterone suppositories (I also got wicked YI as a result of them too 😫). I have been having way more consistent cramps this go around, but I've been assured that this is normal by my doctor (and my mother and sister) since this is not my first pregnancy. 

@cpk3535 if your nausea has kicked in, and you haven't already been given an antiemetic, I would ask the nurse at your appointment. Normally they will have standing order for certain typical meds. At my nurse intake I was offered prenatals, stool softeners, B6/Unisom combo.

How are you feeling?: 🤢🤢🤢 so much nausea! 

Rants/Raves: I am the volunteer CFO for a 501c3, and this week I've decided people suck! We give away around $110,000 annually, and this last week I've been dealing with some organizations that can't manage to respond to their funds approval in a timely manor, and scholarship winners that can't be patient and keep sending nasty emails that their checks haven't been sent to their schools (they are not typically sent until the end of July). It's free money people! 

GTKY: Who is an unusual or unexpected crush you had as a child? I'm pretty sure most of my childhood crushes were on cartoon characters, such is the life of a 90s kid, right?

How are you feeling?: Exhausted & nausea on and off. Plus sore boobs.

Rants/Raves: We sold our house a week ago. We have to be out by July 30th. I am completely overwhelmed trying to take this on while in first trimester. Ugh.

Questions: None today. 

GTKY: Who is an unusual or unexpected crush you had as a child? Probably not unusual, but i was in love with Ben Rodriguez from Sandlot.

Upcoming Appointments: tomorrow for more blood work and another ultrasound 

How are you feeling?: Nausea just got a billion times worse. Yesterday, I had an early scan at the RE and ends up there are two gestational sacs. One has a perfectly formed yolk sac and the other doesn’t just yet. Surprised isn’t the word for it. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the possibility of having twins. We always wanted only two children and this has thrown DH and me for a serious loop. We’ll see how things go over the next week (if a yolk sac develops or not) but we’re thankful to have at least one healthy looking gestational sac. 

Rants/Raves: I feel like garbage and taking care of my toddler is a challenge. Nothing much to rave about atm.

@lolly-pop it would awesome to get some prescriptions to take care of the insomnia this time! I’ll definitely ask about that.

@seeds_of_joy my 11yo daughter (also our oldest) wasn’t doing me any favors yesterday in the kitchen. Get this- she added sardines and mayonnaise to a microwave rice bowl. Normally I like sardines, but the smell was terrible and then she didn’t even like what she had made 🤦‍♀️😂 Ah, kids…

Upcoming Appointments: 7/6 ultra sound and meeting with doctor after

How are you feeling?: like trash. The nausea is kicking my butt as usual.  Also high high anxiety. I wish I could just get confirmation that everything is ok. 

Rants/Raves: I’m hopefully starting my new job next week so that’s awesome. My kids are being pretty good but they kept wanting to go outside and I just wanted to lay on the couch.  It was good for me to get up but the exhaustion is real.

@laurenmicheley OMG good luck on your next ultrasound!! How exciting but I'm sure shocking as well. I think you might be the first with 2 in this BMB so far?!  I took a peak at the January board earlier and they have a twins/multiples thread going....only a matter of time before more start popping up with 2+..!

Upcoming Appointments: first appt and dating scan tomorrow!  I had to fight to get in this soon because I'll be across the country visiting family for a month starting this saturday.  We've moved since my last pregnancy so the 2 new OB offices I called wouldn't see me until I got back (the end of 12 weeks).  I called my old office and my OB is doing me a favor and seeing me as her last appointment tomorrow (I'm driving over an hour for this but not complaining!)  I just need a little glimmer of positivity before seeing family for a month as I'll have to tell them...

How are you feeling?:  Waves of nausea if I let myself get too hungy, tired, sore boobs....oh and HUNGRY all the time. But honestly, pretty OK compared to my last 2 pregnancies. Same symptoms but much milder this time.  Which has kept me anxious and nervous until I go in for my appt tomorrow. Also, I don't have any strong food aversions like I previously had which again is good but anxiety inducing...

Rants/Raves: It is hot as balls here - 100 today and tomorrow.  Kids are inside and its lunchtime at the zoo while I'm trying to work

GTKY: Who is an unusual or unexpected crush you had as a child?  Not unexpected but I was obsessed with JTT from Home Improvement....i love the random tabloid articles that pop up like 'JTT sighting!  Where is he now...'

@emeraldisle17 Exciting, yes. But mostly shocking! I suffer from unexplained recurrent loss so really want as uncomplicated a pregnancy as humanly possible, so multiples is not that lol. We’ll see how it goes. JTT was everyone’s crush in the 90’s, but I was more partial to Devon Sawa.

How are you feeling?: Like a dried up raisin, lol. I’m drinking so much water, but I feel so dehydrated and getting headaches. Ugh. Also had some mild spotting today, so a little anxious. I just hope this baby sticks 🙏 

Rants/Raves: I wish OBs scheduled appointments just a little bit earlier in the pregnancy! I’m dying to know everything’s ok in there.

@ladykaty91 I totally agree, I want to know something about what’s happening internally versus just chatting over phone and email. It makes me so much less eager to share with anybody.

How are you feeling?: SO TIRED. Also getting really uncomfortable. I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep last night and feeling like my stomach is really starting to stretch and cramp. It's not painful, but uncomfortable for sure.

Rants/Raves: I have so much to do at work but I am having trouble finding my focus. 

Questions:

@St0v3s I told my oldest that I was expecting his sister when I hit second tri. He was only 2.5 though so wasn't really aware of what was going on. They are 8 and 5 now and I'm planning to tell them when I get to second tri again out of an abundance of caution.

Upcoming Appointments: video conference to go over HCG results and additional bloodwork tomorrow with a hopeful scan on Friday, 6/23!

How are you feeling?: Anxious is an understatement. I had a miscarriage at 11w5d in January and my HCG is doubling, but not as much as a typically developing pregnancy would be. I’m currently taking a progesterone suppository (hello mood swings, gas, and bloating!), but with a loss so late in the first trimester after a healthy heartbeat at US three weeks prior, all I do is worry. 

Rants/Raves: when people suggest you just calm down and stay positive, it’s obvious they’ve never experienced a gut-wrenching loss. So many of my close friends and I were all due this summer of 2022, and as they’re having their beautiful and healthy babies, I’m just over here being reminded to stay hopeful and think positively with this pregnancy. 

Questions: if anyone else here has experienced loss and is again pregnant, what coping strategies do you use when you’re by yourself?

@kbz90 I totally sympathize- I was also just past 11 weeks with my big miscarriage, and people can be so passé about it. Like, “just get over it”, or something. My dad was one of the worst. If it makes you feel any calmer, we followed that messy loss with a beautiful healthy baby girl. I’ll keep you in my thoughts!! Best of luck to you. ❤️

@kbz90 big hugs friend. I can't say that I "deal" with it by myself, because my thoughts tend to run wild. I would suggest you join in on the Pregnant After Loss thread (PGAL) where this is discussed more in depth.
