Low amniotic fluid 38+2

Anyone have any experience with low amniotic fluid at 38 weeks? What happened? I just finished an ultrasound for concerns of being “small” and baby is measuring fine and all proportionate, but amniotic fluid is very low? It was about a 3, she’s sending over to my doctor as urgent and induction has been mentioned so I’m not sure whats next? Just looking for pointers, and past experiences!
Basically was told baby will flourish on the outside and has exceeded her stay with her size in my belly…

yes with my 2nd pregnancy. They detected low fluid at 33 weeks. I know my nerves were shot as I tried to adjust to the news
But I encourage you to get a second opinion. Many times a pocket can be missed. That’s what happened with me. They thought they would need to induce at 34 weeks. But suggested another ultrasound through another facility. It determined it was close to a 7 & all was fine. 38 weeks is “full term” so worse case scenario, they may induce. But always get another test because it could all be avoided if it was a mistake on the technician’s part. Try not to stress. Listen to Baby’s movements & trust they’ll be ok. Induction or not. They are developed & strong ☺️ Hoping for your sake that another US will prove the fluid is fine.

  • I was told that mine was low at 28 but another hospital confirmed it was normal. Definitely doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion. You’re far enough alone baby would be fine but I’d want another look.
