Amniocentesis

Hey!

I did the NIPS test, and with my luck, it came back saying there was a 7.7% chance of trisomy 13. My obgyn thought it was odd since my US thus far looked normal. Will most likely have amniocentesis during my already scheduled US next week.

Anybody had to go through amniocentesis for abnormal genetic screening?

I did with my first pregnancy. But they didn’t do it until I was much further along in my pregnancy. It was a bit nerve wracking, but not physically painful for me. Had some cramping and had to take it easy for a day or two after.
