NT US and blood work, now what?

My ultrasound came back completely normal and baby has all the features he should, like visible nasal bone, appropriate length and everything. My prenatal screening came back with increased risk for Down syndrome. This was NOT a NIPT screening that is more in depth. Has this happened to anyone else? I meet with genetic counseling tomorrow.

I just got positive markers for Trisomy 18... so I hope yours turns out okay.  I hate all of these blood tests.

I just had bloodwork for NIPT, which will screen for Down syndrome and other chromosome abnormalities. I wasn't going to because it won't change anything for us. But people on the internet made me feel like a bad mom so I did the bloodwork and that's it. I won't do any invasive testing to diagnose. But if you're concerned, you do have the option for further testing that can diagnose instead of just screening. It might ease your concerns or give you a definite answer.

It’s not clear what test you are referring to here but if it was the quad screen that can have a lot of false positives. You could still do NIPT (which is just screening but a lot more accurate) or do a diagnostic test if you want.

are you referring to the quad screen. my OB told me the NiPT is way more accurate so maybe you could ask for that?
