So I just got my NIPT test results back and I got them done at 10 weeks. I was just wondering if anyone has had the gender be wrong and find out later?

Unlikely. They can be less accurate if you previously had a boy I believe. I’d encourage you to talk to your doctor about your test results, as the sex of your child is not really the point of the test.

Did you take the test for the true intent for the test, or just to find out how your kiddo may reproduce and pee? The sex is not important and if its wrong, oh well you know that its probably going to be HEALTHY! That right there should be the only thing parents should worry about.
@awingate87, I believe that girl may be less accurate than boy because they are looking for the presence of the Y chromosome so if there wasn't enough DNA yet sometimes the Y isn't detected. However, if all your results came back then I'd assume there was enough to test, and therefore the girl would be pretty accurate. You'll know for sure at your anatomy scan!
@harpseal135 You may not intend it, but from my perspective, your comments come off a bit harsh. Everyone has their own reasons for curiosities and concerns—with all of us feeling a little extra hormonal right now, seems important to give folks the benefit of the doubt. No offense intended, just want to maintain a supportive environment

How is this helpful input?
OP to answer your question, I’ve had NIPT done four times (3/4 of those were done at 10 weeks) and it’s never been wrong

@coco2787 because many people use the test for the wrong purposes. Finding out the sex of a kid is not the importance of this test is for. Then when it comes to the anatomy scan and the test was wrong, they get pissy. Just like the op, " I was just wondering if anyone has had the gender (sorry but should be sex) be wrong and find out later?" Sorry, but not sorry.
@harpseal135 it’s a test ordered by your doctor. Why is it any of your business if people use it for the “wrong purpose”? Not your body, not your baby, maybe just worry about yourself. Probably will take a lot less energy since being on these boards seems to make you grumpy.
