Where your placenta is located also makes a difference. Empty your bladder first. Try laying down legs straight first, and then bend your knees, feet flat on bed/floor if you can't find it with legs straight. Place the Doppler pretty low and try a few angles. It's definitely still early for the at home ones
@jessxoleigh I have for a couple of weeks now. It was very light early on though. Since then I can still hear it but some days it's harder to find. I think that's just with our bodies changing and some moving around. I find the best luck around my lower left side of my abdomen. There are some videos about it on YouTube, some are harder to hear than others so don't be discouraged. And make sure your volume is all the way up and you have a good amount of the gel on, not enough gel and you definitely won't hear anything. Don't worry about the heart rate numbers because honestly I don't think they're accurate so early, maybe way later on. Also next time you're at an ultrasound try to note where they put their doppler to best hear the heartbeat so youll have a better idea of the location. Just keep practicing and you'll hear it in no time😊
I first found the heartbeat around 11 weeks but it definitely took some patience and moving around. Also the baby was on my right side for the longest time and just switched to the left so just note they move around a lot at this stage. Try not to worry though as there are so many factors that could impact it (placement of placenta, baby moving, shape of your tummy, etc). Also I’m almost 14 weeks and still finding baby very low like an inch up from my pubic hair line.
