๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด?: Physically - I feel really good! I still have some symptoms like sore boobs, acid reflux, sciatica, but overall it is manageable with chiropractor/acupuncture/exercise/diet.ย Mentally - I am so grateful to finally feel consistent movement.ย It has really helped my anxiety!ย I'm still waiting for the next milestone at all times, but trying to enjoy all the moments.
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants:ย I wish alternative medicine was covered under my insurance.ย I have been getting so much relief from the chiropractor/acupuncturist and my insurance coverage is crap.ย I'm using my FSA money, but would rather save that for my delayed IVF bills & upcoming L&D bills.ย Sigh.
My fellow IVF/IF mamas - what did you do with your leftover (unopened) medications - did you have a clear place you could donate those too to other families in need?ย I left a message for my RE, but wanted to get a sense of ideas.

๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants: Rave - we went camping with our 19 month old this weekend and he had soooooo much fun! It was great watching him at the beach. However he's turned into a monster since we got back on Sunday... so that's been fun. Rant - We're building a house this year and I swear we've spent as much time talking to the bank as the builder!!! The guy we're dealing with is such a tool and I can't deal with him anymore. I would ask a question and he kept replying 'as discussed previously' or 'as I said' ... like buddy, I wouldn't be asking if I understood your answers so copying what you wrote yesterday doesn't help!!!! I finally had to turn into a Karen and ask to talk to his manager.
What is something that every summer must include for you?ย A couple camping trips
@sandy5693 for our first 4 transfers I kept all my meds and used them the next time (really didn't have anything left over from retreival). This FET was our last embryo, and I had a friend doing a FET two months after we did, so I passed all my meds along to her. Because it was a friend I passed along my open Progesterone in Oil, but we found out it expired 28 days after it was open, so that was wasted Otherwise, I'm in a local infertility Facebook group and have seen people offer up meds there.ย
@wolfiebaby I wouldn't be too stressed about laying on your back! I asked my OB about that with my son because I kept waking up on my back when I was sleeping. She said our bodies are pretty efficient and if we're doing something that harms baby (like cutting off blood flow) we'll start to feel uncomfortable and want to move. I like to lay down on the couch when reading so I've been trying to prop myself up with pillows so I'm mostly sitting up / lounging and it seems to work okay.
I had a virtual 24-week yesterday which was short and nice. The physician asked how I was feeling, if I had any questions, and told me about the upcoming GD screening and vaccinations.
Waking up at odd times and wanting to be actively doing things, so... it'll be nice when summer vacation comes along and I can follow my body's demands andย
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants: Unlimited hot water is my and hubb's favorite thing. It has been such a game changer even if the heater has a few quirks we have to keep in mind.
I know that kick counts start at week 28, but I've been able to determine consistently throughout the day that it takes 10-30 minutes to feel ten movements. If kick counts are counted over one or two hours, is it bad that I count much quicker? What is something that every summer must include for you?ย Water. A lake, a pool, the ocean. I want to be in it or on top of it.
In the last few days I've suddenly felt much heavier and much more pregnant. Also starting to try thinking through the logistics for when I'm in labour, namely what to do with DS because I have no idea. Our parents aren't an option.
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants: Rave: I got 100% on my Personality Psychology midterm! It's been a heavy workload course so I really wasn't expecting that. Rant: My laundry still hasn't figured out how to do itself and it's getting harder to bend to unload the dryers. Might be time to pass that chore over to DH soon.
Anyone else starting to already feel some nesting instincts kicking in?
What is something that every summer must include for you? Swimming! BBQ or campfire
@pangolindrome Kick counts aren't so much about meticulous counting as they are for having an awareness of your baby's regular rhythm of activity. If I sense that baby isn't moving as much as usual that prompts me to do a kick count to see if I'm right or if I just missed it. If you already know baby consistently moves so much at certain times of day that's great! You don't have to count every day, just be alert to changes in movement, particularly if she's not moving or not moving as much as usual when she typically moves.
@sandy5693 There with you on the nesting. I wish I could do more but my ability toย do is limited by space. I feel like I need to figure out a couple of drawers for baby things and see what items in the kitchen cabinets we don't use, but that's about it. Apparently my in-laws were talking about how they expect me to start nesting for real and I'm like... well thanks, there's hardly anything I can do anyways. LOL
@krthouse Thank you, I thought it was something like that but I'm so new to all this and I really just want to understand it all. Baby June already has routines that match up pretty well with mine, so she's not too difficult to keep track of.
@krthouse I canโt remember, is YS in daycare at all? Do you know any other moms there? DD has a friend whose mom had a baby last year and her parents live out of town. We text occasionally and she mentioned being worried what she would do with big sister if the baby came before they got here, so I offered to take her, even though it ended up not being necessary. Weโve had a couple of play dates so I think she was comfortable enough with my parenting style/knew that her daughter would be in good hands. Would something like that be an option?
@krthouse I'm about to start a search for a mother's helper/sitter for when my C date rolls around. We have no family help. I have one friend that could do it but my oldest daughter can't stand her. I've considered asking a friend to come visit and stay during the day but my kids are A LOT and TV as a distraction isn't an option. Not only that but my oldest has debilitating anxiety (like if I'm chopping vegetables she winces when I'm chopping because she's afraid I'm going to cut myself so me in surgery is not easy on her. ) So she needs someone who understands her needs.ย My parents aren't in the picture and my husband's parents are dead. It's very stressful.
10/18 but MFM said something about scheduling a 39 week C section which I am not going to do unless it's medically necessary. 21 weeks and 2 days.ย

I'm honestly finding it hard to believe because this pregnancy has been EXACTLY like my girl pregnancies and nothing like my boy pregnancy. I actually assumed we were having another boy but I'm still a little surprised. I suppose this boy won't have my awful cancer skin and glorious hair.ย
Baby's Name (if chosen/sharing): we got nothing. We were golden for girls but I can't find a boy name I like. I had a meltdown trying some out the other day.
6/14. I need to try and reschedule it with the doctor I like. They want you to see a bunch of the doctors in the practice but since I'm having a scheduled C and have never gone into labor before 40 weeks I don't really want to.
I swear my stomach got bigger overnight. I'm so unbelievably exhausted. Very stressed about finding someone to watch my kids while I have my c section.ย
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants:ย Raves: our roof is 22 years old. Our insurance wasย supposed to cover maybe 30% and they ended up covering half which saves of several thousand dollars. Our roof contractor has been awesome and surprisingly the insurance company was quick to do everything including pay out.
What is something that every summer must include for you?ย Pool and watermelon.
@bows22 Not in daycare, DH work M-F, mostly from home, and I work weekends so we haven't needed it.ย
I'm thinking of seeing if he can go have a sleepover with my brother and his family. They're not in town, but about a 1.5/2 hour drive so doable. It just makes me so anxious because he hasn't really had much by way of babysitters at all since he's a pandemic baby. I think whatever we do I want to do a test run for both his peace of mind and mine. I want to make this the least traumatic for him as possible.ย
Just following up about my virtual visit yesterday. My midwife and I chatted through signs of preterm labour, confirmed where I want to deliver and talked through several birth preference items. Also booked some later-in-pregnancy tests for not that long from now. Things are getting real, y'all!

Iโm hot, huge, and so done with pregnancy already! I did just buy some maternity jeans shorts from Amazon, and they are amazing
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants: I havenโt been posting much lately. My toddler has become a madman. As soon as he turned 18 months, he has been exhausting!

@sandy5693 can you please send some of your nesting energy this way? I have a ton to do (convert the guest bedroom to nursery, sort through baby clothes to keep unisex things, see what we still need), and have zero time to do it. I also keep rationalizing that the kiddo will be in our room for the first several months, so that kills my motivation.

Both my daughters had short-lived bugs last week that knocked them down for a day and Iโm analyzing every sniffle to see if Iโm getting it. But my allergies are also in beast mode.ย
๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฒs/rants: Iโm at my law school for my 15 year reunion! It has been great being back in the area and seeing people. Iโm also the only pregnant person in the class so feeling like a bit of a spectacle. Unfortunately there is forecasted bad weather in my connecting city (Newark) and United preemptively canceled both my Sunday flights yesterday evening. ย So now Iโm faced with driving 5 hours with my NYC-based friends from school and getting over to LGA for a one-way flight I booked last night and keeping fingers crossed that LGA keeps everything moving.ย
